Lol, wow. And the clown show continues. Not even Hollywood’s best comedy writers could come up with with anything this ridiculous. I’m continually amazed at how bats*** crazy this timeline is.

Just wait 12 months. With no safety regulations on food, drugs, transportation, health, AND no vaccines or Healthcare, they will all be dead and we can just walk right in and take what we want, if there is anything left.

I'm not sure what is worse: that he is a gross, lying, narcissistic, mentally unwell rapist/felon.............or............that a lot of Americans thought enough of him to vote for him.

What happened to that country.

Trump abruptly fired Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden on Thursday as the White House continues to purge the federal government of those perceived to oppose the president and his agenda.

Hayden was the first woman and the first African American to be librarian of Congress.

Trump post about killing the Digital Equity Act

I have spoken with my wonderful Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, and we agree that the Biden/Harris so-called “Digital Equity Act” is totally UNCONSTITUTIONAL. No more woke handouts based on race! The Digital Equity Program is a RACIST and ILLEGAL $2.5 BILLION DOLLAR giveaway. I am ending this IMMEDIATELY, and saving Taxpayers BILLIONS OF DOLLARS!

The act was written to help many different groups, including veterans, older people and disabled and rural communities. But Mr. Trump .. denounced the law .. raging in a social media post that it amounted to providing 'woke handouts based on race.'"

As always Biden is in touch with what the voters really want

https://apnews.com/article/biden-vie...0dcc68872ff0d1

Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) — Former President Joe Biden says he’s responsible for Donald Trump’s victory last fall, but he attributes Kamala Harris’ loss, at least in part, to sexism and racism.

Biden, who left office in January, addressed the Democrats’ disastrous 2024 election, concerns about his age and Trump’s divisive leadership during a Thursday interview on ABC’s “The View.” The 82-year-old Democrat said he has intentionally avoided speaking out publicly until this week to give the Republican president more than 100 days in office without his interference, as is typically the tradition following a change in the White House.

Asked about the last election, Biden said he was surprised by the role that gender and race played in the contest.

“They went the sexist route,” Biden said of criticism that “a woman couldn’t lead the country and a woman of mixed race.”

He added: “I was in charge, and he won, so I take responsibility.”

...

Biden rejected concerns about his cognitive decline prompted by a disastrous debate performance last June. He also declined to criticize the Democratic leaders who privately pressed him to abandon his campaign.

“The only reason I got out of the race was because I didn’t want to have a divided Democratic Party,” he said, adding that the broader party didn’t buy into concerns about his age following the “terrible” debate performance “but the Democratic leadership and some of the very significant contributors did.”

Polling, however, suggests that the concerns among Democrats were widespread.

In January 2022, just a year into Biden’s first term, an AP-NORC poll found that only 48% of Democrats wanted him to seek reelection. That fell to 37% of Democrats in an AP-NORC poll conducted February 2023. And two after his debate flop, nearly two-thirds of Democrats said Biden should withdraw from the race.
A walking talking "Am I out of touch? No it's the children who are wrong" meme. You love to see it.

The fallout from this is going to be huge. The media zeroed in on the coal miners, because that's a pretty flashy headline, but this really sets back union gains to the 1800s.

Companies are going to start doing all sorts of toxic #### (literally) because oversight just disappeared.

Trump wants to raise taxes on the super rich?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...s-republicans/

Quote:
The current top tax bracket, which pays a 37 percent rate, applies to those with more than $626,350 in earnings, or $751,600 for married couples filing jointly.
Trump wants to raise it to 39%

Quote:
Trump is also seeking to close a tax loophole that allows investment fund managers to pay lower tax rates, and another provision that would subject major stadium and arena owners to higher tax bills, the people said.

Didn't they gut the enforcement? Closing loopholes doesn't really matter then if no one is checking.

You will have to see what the total affect on how capital gains are calculated. You could raise the marginal rate but if you decrease gains you have still lowered taxes on the rich but increased taxes on those with high wages generating that income.

But in isolation those look like reasonable decisions. As a note Canadas top bracket is only 33% but starts much earlier.
