Dude they’re “the most morale army in the world”. They warned these civilians ahead of time that they’d be used as human shields, so it’s totally ok. That absolves them of everything. How dare you speak of the IDF negatively?

They are the bastion of free speech and democracy in the Middle East in the middle of savages and animals, how else are they supposed to defend themselves? It’s not like they have one of the most advanced and well funded militaries in the world, what do you expect them to do? Use some of the insane amount of technology at their disposal to reduce civilian casualties? You must be pro-Hamas and just want these innocent soldiers to die!

Palestinian Civil Defence announced Wednesday it will pull out of northern Gaza, saying its crews, which carry out first responder and search and rescue services, have been targeted by Israeli attacks as they tried to pull survivors — or bodies — from the rubble or offer first-aid to the injured.

The volunteers who work with the agency in northern Gaza have been working under impossible circumstances and doing so without access to crucial supplies, reporters heard at a press conference at the Al-Ahli (Al-Ma'madani) Arab Hospital.

"We are now announcing that the northern Gaza Strip, all of the northern district, the Civil Defence is not providing any humanitarian services, any medical services [in the area]," said Mahmoud Basel, a spokesperson for Palestinian Civil Defence.
Quote:
Basel said the team moved toward the Indonesian Hospital "based on instructions from the Israeli army."

"On the way to the site, the occupying forces targeted the team, injuring a number of men and leading to the rest of the group losing contact with us."
Quote:
He said the IDF "is executing" and detaining emergency services, effectively stopping all humanitarian aid in northern Gaza.

The most moral military in the world keeps being moral.

Ah, cool. Today they targeted and killed a bunch of journalists. That's totally not a war crime though. Because Israel.

Quote:
Also on Friday, an Israeli airstrike on guesthouses where journalists were staying in southeast Lebanon killed three media staffers. Outside of now-collapsed buildings rented by various media outlets, cars marked "PRESS" lay covered in dust and rubble after the strike, Associated Press photos showed.

The Israeli army did not issue a warning prior to the strike. Representatives of the news networks and Lebanese politicians accused Israel of war crimes and intentionally targeting journalists.

"These were just journalists that were sleeping in bed after long days of covering the conflict," said Imran Khan, a senior correspondent for Al Jazeera English who was among the journalists in the compound. In a social media post, he said he and his team were not hurt.

Looks like Israel has launched its retaliation operation in Iran

https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/l...kes-hit-beirut

Not sure what “military targets” are in Tehran, but no doubt another excuse for Israel to carry out death and destruction against civilians.

Care to provide details on the death and destruction carried out against Iranian civilians?

Yes because if there’s anything we’ve learned from this situation, it’s that you look at each operation in a vacuum, and don’t care about what’s happened before and after it.

I am extremely glad that Israel showed restraint here and it looks like the damage to civilians was minimal. I hope they continue to show a more reasonable approach to prevent a large scale conflict.

At least in these attacks they are attacking the cause of the problem and in a manner that they believe won’t result in full scale retaliation.

Good time to bomb Iran to distract people from the ethnic cleansing they’re doing in northern Gaza.

Also looking forward to discussions about what ethnic cleansing technically is, as codified in the legal scripture.

Or better yet, let’s use terms like genocide and ethnic cleansing in its most liberal application, to describe war time casualties, in the most densely populated and complex terrorist maze den that’s ever been fought in.

It's either that, or excuse the clear cases of war crimes being committed by Israel(you know, things that are still crimes during war), many of which have been pointed out in this thread, but you can also search them out, it won't take too log to see a pattern. You know, things like bombing known reporters, shooting them in the head, and killing aid workers.

lol…

ethnic cleansing in its liberal form is not so bad?

Let’s only get worked up over robust ethnic cleansing, not this lite version?

In a post objecting to the use of what you believe is hyperbole you probably shouldn’t be using minimalist language for the actions of the IDF. For example using Gazans as human shields to check for booby traps so they get blown up instead of IDF soldiers is not “War Time casualties”.

That’s right that was their sole motivation to retaliate against Iran. Nothing to do with re-establishing deterrence following a 200 ICBM attack. It’s all about the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.

Respected experts and academics have made arguments that what Israel has done could be considered genocide or ethnic cleansing, members of the Israeli government have called for these things, and Israel has committed war crimes. These are indisputable facts. So, I find it interesting that some people will take issue with or mock this language for its hyperbolic, loaded nature, but sit on their hands or actively participate in describing critics as terrorists or terrorist supporters.

So, the language isn’t the issue. It’s the subject.

Best part of the strike against Iran was 4 female IDF pilots taking part. Must make the mullah’s heads explode.

Good point. The Haredi must be having an extra laugh. They’ve already put their women into the place so as to not be embarrassed by them.

I see Mike Keenan has a book out. Mention this because years ago I believe he spent some time in Israel assisting with the development of their hockey program at The Canada Place in Metullah along the norther border with Lebanon. Metullah, along with other communities is a ghost town because of Hezbollah rockets. I heard the recreation centre was damaged but have not been able to verify. I was there a few years back and there’s a Flames jersey on the wall above the ice.

In any event small tidbit in a tragic war for all people in the region.

Yeah, that's pretty dope, but an even better best part of the conflict is a tie between when the IDF used Palestinians as human shields or when they were able to get Palestinians to evacuate their homes to a concentration refugee camp and then fire missiles at that area the next day, amirite?
