I think you would have a harder time finding people that aren't drunk on a golf cart

Yup, that's exactly what I said. You just keep riding that high horse. I am sure there are some pretty big skeletons in your closet, there usually are in the ones that play the I am so innocent card.

Darryl is a good coach and I don’t think that’s up for debate. However this has been a strange year for him. His comments in the media about players have been different in that they have crossed the line from hockey assessment to more personal and derogatory. I bet he regrets this but would never admit in front of reporters.

On top of that his line usage has been extremely questionable. Plus giving some AHL talent a look hasn’t really happened. The only reason why I think a move could occur is if there is indeed tension between him and Tre. Ownership would then decide who they want to lead this group.

I personally think the coaching change rumour is bs considering the recent contract extension for the head coach. How Tre’s future plays out is more interesting and a larger story in my opinion.

I like the idea of Trotz if there had to be a coaching change. I don't believe Sutter is the problem though.

I had no idea about the Brunette story. Tkachuk better watch himself.

People that drink and drive a regular motor vehicle are absolute #######s and losers though. They get zero sympathy and forgiveness from me unless they have done something to actually earn it.

Pretty sure he's part of the problem

It's honestly strange how hesitant anybody is to point fingers .. at any one

Playing below capabilities signals players being unresponsive to coaching/direction or that they're unmotivated, which is supposed to be sutter's forte

Look how badly organized the PP is ... thats coaching

If you're not saying it's coaching then you're putting it entirely on the players. I don't think it is.

I doubt Carolina or New Jersey are considering a coaching change. Their power plays are below average. Ottawa is...2nd? It happens.

Has an assistant ever been brought in at the deadline to improve the PP?

Can the Wranglers coach come up? Aren't they top 5?

Would all you shut up! Coaching change isn’t gonna do anything and sutter isn’t going anywhere.
This is a trade speculation page… keep it to that. Holy! Your pointless banter about coaching enough! Lol #♂️

I get notifications from “nhltraderumours” on my instagram feed, and they often take a rumour that’s been posted from the usual suspects, and then expand on them, so obviously it’s a grain of salt situation. I just read two rumours there involving the Flames:

Austin Watson: Most here will be outraged to see this name, but I wouldn’t mind this at all. He’s huge (6’4”), tough and physical, and has a good two-way conscience. Best part? He’s a good skater! He would be a replacement/upgrade on Lucic. Watson was drafted in the first round in 2010, and in 2018-19, he put up 16 points in 37 games. In playoff action in his career, he has 10 goals and 19 points in 45 games.

Nick Bjugstad: 6’6”, and would boost our bottom-6, and fill in on the 2nd line if need be. Good two-way player, 23 points in 53 games.

This team doesn't need anymore bottom 6 players, they have 9+ of them!

I'd there a trade available that turns this team into a contender? If not be honest and save your assets and maybe make a trade or 2 to get more assets.

For everyone saying "anything can happen" this team probably has a better chance at a top 5 pick than winning the cup, sell off anyone and go for Bedard...anything can happen!

Yea this somewhat how I feel about it as well.
The only way you spend assets is to shore up the team long term on something good (Chychrun for example, though I'm not a fan of it)

This team needs top 6 SKILL & TALENT, we don't need any more bottom 6th depth/size/grit etc.

The only player I'd bring in for depth reasons would be taking a flier on Duclair and hope he can reinvigorate Huberdeau's career here.

Otherwise, lets keep our picks and sell what we can going into the draft.

Here are the xG% and G% of the forwards:

Pelletier-Kadri-Huberdeau: xG% - 75.7%, G% - 66.7% (small sample size)
Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman: xG% - 71.5%, G% - 83.3%
Dube-Lindholm-Toffoli: xG% - 52.7%, G% - 59.3%
Any combination of 4th line xG% < 50%, G% - =< 50%

Here are the xG% and G% of the defense:

Tanev-Weegar: xG% - 54.4%, G% - 43.2%
Hanafin-Anderson: xG% - 54.3%, G% - 56.7%
Stone-Zadorov: xG% - 51.3%, G% - 57.1%
Weegar-Zadorov: xG% - 54.3%, G% - 64.2%

We absolutely need a boost to the 4th line. While dropping a Dube down the lineup may help, if we acquire a top 6 piece I think it is more likely the Flames will leave the top 9 alone and try acquire a 4th line center at the TDL to help out (like a Brassard type).

To me the largest issue with this team is the D.

Weegar with Zadorov has been better than Weegar with Tanev. If the Flames feel that Kylington won't be back (and maybe either way), I really hope they are in on Chychrun. I personally don't think he is great defensively or a 1a or 1b but pairing him with Tanev and adding his shot on the powerplay I think would benefit the Flames greatly.

I think those 2 changes alone would benefit the Flames greatly and where I hope they go TDL.

Barbashev cost is reportedly a 2nd and a prospect, thoughts?

26 + 34 in 81 reg season games last year before disappearing in the playoffs and posting 2A in 12 games and receding this year back to his career average and is at 9 + 15 through 51.

He does take faceoffs but has terrible percentages, we’ve been linked to him but I feel like he could be a bust more than he could be a boom which speaks to the 2nd + prospect cost for a recent 60 point guy.

It’s hard to gauge if the Flames will be buyers and the market this year is tricky
