Agreed. It looks like it just reverts back to the same Shane/Rick dynamic. Promos can sure be misleading though sometimes,. so I'm going to give the show then benefit of the doubt.

Did anyone watch the talking dead after? They made a really good point (and I hate the fact that I missed it). Shane should be a walker soon. He cut his hand open on the school bus with what looked like the same knife he used to kill that zombie on the chain link fence at the start of the episode. Either a massive oversite by the writers, or he is going to turn OR it's not transmitted how we thought.

There was that scene with the two walker police officers in which Rick and Shane discovered that scratches on their faces were the cause of infection. That hasn't been a focus in any previous episode so it suggests to me that they're trying to work that in a bit more now. I'm still trying to figure out the wandering walker that appeared midway through and again at the end of the episode.

Yeah, what was the point of that walker.
Is some kind of symbolism for Shane? Maybe Shane thinks "I'm no better off than that walker out there. I'm all on my own. Blah blah blah"?
I agree, it was a weird and confusing scene.

I'm probably reading too much into this but was there a reason they didn't show Shane killing the second police walker? He seemed to be impressed by Rick's tactic when it came to killing with a knife and when he tries it himself on the bus it almost seems as though that was the first time he had tried it. This makes me think that the second police walker was killed by Rick and Shane's knife wasn't infected when he used it to cut his hand. I'm going to rewatch the episode later.

Unusual that there were a couple of zombie characters that appeared to have no bite marks... just "scratches". What was the purpose in this scene?
Who's to say the scratches were inflicted by other zombies?
Maybe the scratches weren't the cause of their turning? Maybe the virus is now going airborn when in close proximity with zombies?
A new twist in the plot... perhaps to make the zombies even more dangerous? I mean, lets face it.. right now they're not that difficult to kill and its not that difficult to prevent infection.

^^^^ Im thought he had killed a walker on the bus first then he decide to cut his hand. I cant remember though, I was pretty tired when I watched.
Can somebody recap the scene from the next episode for me? Did it not have to do with the kid in the barn and them deciding whether to shot him or not?

That's true, I shouldn't have said that they knew the scratches were the cause.

Was it a walker? And why was Shane the only one that seemed to see it?
Looked like a black, shadowy figure to me... A bit of grim reaper foreboding, perhaps?

Good point, I was thinking it was representative of the virus slowly taking over his body but that doesn't go with the fact he saw it before the encounter on the bus.

I think it is Shane's conscience getting the better of him though.
Not sure why they feel the need to execute the guy they rescued though. He seemed to prove himself with the self-defense, and given that its not Rick and Shane's farm, they should leave the decision to Hershel whether the guy can stay.

In season 1, Morgan's wife is shown to return to the house and go as far as try to open the door.

Didn't Otis get gang-eaten? Can't imagine there's much left of Otis to walk through the grass.

I think they were theorizing that the scratches had to cause their infection as they had no visible bites. Could easily have been caused by other zombies but you have to wonder why they wrote that into the script.

Hmm, that I don't recall. I thought they did show him kill it.
As far as the airborne part, I sure hope not as there is no way Rick and Shane wouldn't be infected now. Escpecially Rick after pulling that dead zombie onto himself as well as the 3 zombies he blew away when they were standing over him.
I mean honestly, at this point they are barely doing anything to keep zombie fluids off of them. In the first season when they hacked up that zombie for camoflauge, they were very careful not to get any fluids on them. This season we have seen people yanking arrows out of walkers and wiping the blood off on their pants or doing disections only wearing gloves, getting covered in blood when they open up with firearms. Certainly no where near the level of care as the first season. Only thing I can think of is the guy from the CDC in s01 told Rick something about how it transmits. Like possibly they are all already infected but that makes no sense.

Believe it or not I was just thinking exactly that. You are right, they haven't been taking a lot of precautions when it comes to zombie blood. I don't think it's as complex as we're making it.

Which, coincidentaly, started right after the CDC part. However....
IF everyone is already infected that would indicate to me there are two viruses at work here (one turns you and one kills you) meaning you don't need to be bitten/scratched by a zombie to become one, you simply just have to die. I don't think we have seen that yet, someone just dying and turning.
CDC guy said something profound to Rick, I sure hope we find out what it was soon. We came oh so close to finding out what it was at the start of this season but nothin doin....
