Every single draft year there are a handful of Olympic calibre Canadian players entering the league. Canada has never lacked the talent to put together a gold medal contender, nothing indicates that will change any time soon.

Really? The US has plenty of young talent, but there are a number of Canadian players under 25 that would have been no brainer inclusions on the US roster.

Canada just went through a period where they won the WJHC five times in a row and lost the last one in OT.

This with routinely having 5-10 of their best junior aged players in the NHL as top players.

It is cool that the US had the youngest team but Canada has more and better young talent than the US and will replace the older players with great young guys like they do every time there is a tournament like this.

Interesting note: Team Canada had the traditional and (Oly unapproved) Hockey Canada leaf logo stitched INSIDE their sweaters. 3 minutes ago via UberTwitter

Today Luongo didn't let in any bad goals (although I have no idea what Niedermayer was doing on the tying goal) and Crosby after being non-existent for a few games showed up when it matters. I love it!!

It's been a fun few weeks and I guess we can all cheer for the same team in another 4 years in Russia!
It's been a awesome few weeks, I don't know what I will watch from here on out hahaha... Great call as well.... We are all Canadian babyyy .... WOOOOOOOO

That's so great that he got to call it. I'm as happy for him as I am for Iggy.

Was the last 3x"Yeah Baby!" call Game 6 against Detroit in 04?

Can't argue with that finish. Even Lou played great. The Americans were hungry and it showed. But we came through at the end. Iggy to Crosby for the win. Awesome to watch, just awesome.

I think that Pronger has been a little left behind, this old man just ain't what he used to be. And I thought that Iggy was behind a step for the first few games, well one of these old timers caught up and the other didn't. Iginla was huge in the last couple of games both on the O and on the D. Pronger has been MIA since day 1.

I hope that when they restart the NHL Iggy comes back with the fire that he showed through the last 3 games. Even when he wasn't scoring we was winning battles and making the players around him better. These are not regular compliments for Jarome Iginla.

I had to work at 5:00 PM(central time) and when I heard Crosby score the winning goal(from Iggy no less!) on the radio, I honked my car horn all the way to work.

I have never been more proud to be Canadian.

Excellent job, Team Canada!

Maybe right now, but lets see those world junior players like eberle, hall, etc perform in the next 4 years. Its tough to say but right now but I would consider USA, Canada, and Russia (home team) to be the early favorites going into Russia. With either 3 having a shot to compete for a gold. I say Russia only because they are at home.

Canada will always compete, we know that for sure. They have the talent every year to field a group of all-stars, but I think 2014 the americans will have enough to field a group of all-stars as well.

As a born Czech I've got nothing to look forward too, Michael Frolik??? Our program has taken a turn for the worse.
