Haha yep, I'm in Harper's riding. I saw the Libertarian name on the ballot and I was like, yep, Libertarian Party is getting my vote. So that's one...

Harper is pretty good and I know that he is a libertarian philosophically.

I think some people can be broken down into identifiable groups. However, I'd say this is a small number.

This clearly doesn't apply to the average voter who is not politically attuned, and only think politics when an election is announced. I'd say, that's a huge chunk of the electorate.

Thanks, I like it that way but it is always fun to watch/listen to the US elections with all the exit polling etc.. throughout the day.

Are media outlets allowed to show results from out east before the west's polls close? I think they are but not sure.

I really hope Richard wins that riding... he's clearly a better choice than that Shory. That whole selection thing is way too shady.

A good co-worker friend of mine is a Sikh and she has some hilarious stories about Shory's rise to the nomination. Ugly, ugly business. Apparently, lives were threatened etc...

Laugh.

How are Public Choice and median voter mutually exclusive? Median voter theory is BUILT on public choice and rationale decision making. Thanks for helping to prove my point.

I think all median voter theorists are public choice theorists as well.

What a weird comment.

Just voted. I am in the Vancouver Quadra riding which was won by the Liberals, Joyce Murray, last federal election. I ran into her a couple days ago campaigning near my apartment complex and asked her some questions and she began to spit out the anti-Harper nonsense that I didn't want to hear, I wanted to hear what they were going to DO, not what they were NOT going to do. Anyways, she lost my vote. One of the major points on the Green Party candidates agenda was legalization of marijuana, this didn't strike me as a major political issue, so no vote for you. I ended up voting Conservative, which I knew I was going to vote in the first place, but a pretty depressing situation in my riding as all the candidates were pretty underwhelming.

I voted this morning. Figure if work has to give you time to vote, I might as well do it on my way to work this morning. Was really slow at first since there wasn't enough staff on hand yet at 0730. Fortunately, they opened the lines up with people that received the mail card can go directly to their polling station and people that need to register can go in their own line.
Should be interesting in my Riding, Edmonton-Central since it only went to the Conservatives last election (formerly Anne McCellan's Riding). I think the Conservatives will keep it, since the Liberal candidate is relatively new.

I had 2 recorded calls from Richard, one from the Shory campaign (but it was a recording of Art Hangar saying to vote for Shory), and recorded message from Kang. Kang also came to my door yesterday.

This should be an interesting vote.

Yeah not the biggest fan of Murray at all.

That said, I've had Deoborah Meredith as a professor for the last two years....

Long story short, I'm making up my mind in the booth

Going after work. Just doing a little research over lunch right now.

Has everyone seen this??? http://www.notaleader.ca/

I agree with flames_fan_down_under, tell me what you're going to do, not what everyone else did wrong. It's frustrating.

You mean bushharper.com? That mindless insult to Canadian voters is still up.

Yeah, I called into work to let them know I was going to be 15 minutes late because I was voting. Living in Calgary's deep south, I decided I'd rather vote first thing in the morning than get caught up in the suburb rush as everyone who gets home late tries to get to the polls in the last two hours of voting.
