while i agree that the logical course for this show to take would be Lumen dying, the writers are all about taking twists that no one sees coming. in every season they've had a guest star as the main supporting actor, and they've all died. now everyone likely expects the same from Lumen, so i'm gonna go against the grain and say that she lives. IMO it will boil down to a showdown between Dexter and Robocop, and Lumen will be the one to save Dexter. next season is all but guaranteed to be the finale, so i think they continue to explore Dexter teaching Lumen the code (just like how he does in the books with his kids) and she'll be the one to carry on his work after his inevitable demise

This is probably the best guess on Lumen. I think everyone I've talked to is expecting her to die, or take the fall for Dexter. I'm sure the writers are aware of this obvious plot. One thing good about the show is the red herring it keeps dishing out. I'll say Lumen lives as well.
I agree, Very slow start. It feels as if season 5 was only 1/2 a season, and now, Already, only 2 episodes left. But......Still my absolute favorite show.
They spent way too much time cleaning up last season. The season should have started with the fight between Astrid and Dexter and them going to live with their Grand Parents and the nanny being hired. Then you would have had 2 or 3 extra episodes for the plot this season.
dexter didn't have time to clean up after himself in the van.....might come back to bit him in the ass
I think that single drop of blood that fell out of the van and onto Quinn's boot is going to bite Quinn in the ass; and if it does, I don't see Quinn mentioning Dexter's name to any possible interrogation because he cares about Deb too much.

+1 to this theory. I saw the preview for the finale and to add to this, I don't think Deb finds out about Dex. Should be a great one! Nanny has to have some significance; they keep brining her up. Ah, I can't wait!

I don't think it will. Who would be analyzing the blood? Dexter. Would he identify it as Robocop's blood when it comes time to analyze it? Not likely.
But Quinn might figure out what happened and then deduce what Dexter's been up to. I don't think he's interested in exposing Dexter but he might use that information to get Dexter to help him out with Deb.

How? Liddy has no connection to it. Dexter will return the gear, which will be thoroughly cleaned, and no one will have any idea it was even taken out much less what it was being used for.

Yep, that blood is definitely coming back to haunt Quinn
Although maybe Dex will clear him (i.e bad blood work), it was made clear to him through listening to the phone call that Quinn didn't want to be involved anymore
and Dex didn't take the gear, he only took the tapes/hard drives which had stuff on them, someone will find the van and the recorder gear
I'm just surprised they didn't do the whole lame zoom/blur on the blood dripping onto Quinn's shoe. They used it 5 times when Dex saw the blood in that van at the start of the season.
