I really hope ownership considers turfing Atkins here. They simply can’t get runs and most game not even get on base. It’s a talent issue for a third of the lineup. It’s on the GM mostly. So annoyed being sold snake oil and half the fans buying into a mediocre team.

Rogers has got to make changes now, 5th highest payroll and this is the result. That’s entirely in management and the coaching staff. I’m not sure I’d keep anyine around but Pete Walker,

This is going to be a long season.

The top of the order is doing #### all. But the bottom of the order is even worse. Your two best hitters on the season have been Heinemen and Springer. Vlad is doing ok-ish. Bo's career is falling apart faster than Ricky Romero's. I thought Roden might be a good story but he sucks. Lukes and Barger aren't big leaguers. Clement is a decent utility guy off the bench at best. I can't stand Santander and Gimenez. 40 million for those guys is ludicrous. Like you can go on and on about how ####ing bad this lineup is.

Offense is an issue,

They have to stay healthy, limited depth for sure.

Baseball is like that though. If Kirk squeezes that foul tip in the bottom of the third to complete the strikeout then it's 2 outs with runners 1st and 2nd (or maybe the corners) when Bellinger comes up, and his sac fly is out number 3. Now Gausman is out of the 3rd with no runs, and has thrown like 40 pitches. Probably that doesn't rock his confidence.

That game goes differently after that, imo - just the score effects of 1-0 Jays instead of 6-1 Yankees alone makes a difference.
