Ron Maclean responded on air to a slightly mean tweet I made of him last year where I called him a washed up corporate shill, he seemed pretty butt hurt about it. They all have their phones on the desk and you can tell they're checking up on their feeds during the games.

Said this for 15 years, Lowe cuddled up with as much media as he could, local and national, to get the court of public opinion under his control.
Ron McLean goes to all the Oilers offseason events and roasts and golf tourneys etc and has for a long time becuase of this relationship.
When the Oilers got McDavid Lowe increased the pressure for Snet to cover him nationally and with favoritism.
The product of those years and decades of Oilers being friendly with McLean and Sportsnet are in full evidence tonight.
