The Flames #1 PP actually looks legit.
Huberdeau-Kadri-Sharangovich-Kuzmenko
Huberdeau should be able to rack up a bunch of meaningless points here. The team will also be showcasing Kuzmenko, who they'll want potting goals while playing defensively irresponsible hockey with Huberdeau.

Yeah. No sense in punching down. There was no reason to expect it to be as bad as it is. Though one person said James Neal 2.0 and just got #### on for two pages.

I haven't quite been as disgusted with Johnny, but give it a couple years and that poster might well be proven correct.

I’m hoping Huberdeau uses stuff like this as fuel and starts to prove people wrong this year.
Surprised Gaudreau isn’t on there.

That's a pretty generous assessment. He's not a lock to make the day 1 roster that will comprise of possibly the worst forward group in the NHL. You've gotta be Gaudreau good if you're that small.

The best thing about Nurse's Contract is Bouchard is worth at least 3M more then Nurse and his agent with use that.

I can see the argument for Huberdeau's contract being the worst. I certainly don't disagree.
I don't think Chandler Stephenson's is that bad though. It's a typical UFA overpayment to me, but not to a level of absurdity. If he can maintain being a 50-60 point player for a few seasons, then maybe 2 or 3 years of 40-50 points, a $6.25 million AAV is pretty fine for that kind of player IMO. The last couple of season may not pay off given that he will be 35+ by then, but a lot of UFA contracts are designed that way. It's just the price you usually have to pay to get the guy to sign.
It's not that different than Kadri's contract, which I don't think was bad either (although I know some people hated it). Maybe Stephenson can't do it with another team, and that's a risk I guess.

The assessment is based on analytics that suggest Stephenson is awful without Stone. I guess we’ll find out.

I still think the problem is number 10...no swagger with that number and doesn't suit him at all IMO.
Also think it's been cursed with the Flames since Gary Roberts.
He should change to 71.

Still, the good will towards Treliving evaporated completely. Everyone was emotionally invested in this saga "but look, here's a star player and he wants to be here!". The comments look ugly in hindsight, but in the context of that hellish summer I get it at least. A shame things turned out the way they did, but I'm happy seeing the team take on a full rebuild for once too.

Would be nice but realistically probably won't happen. He's had enough fuel these last couple of years and has always come up short. After Sutter was let go we heard how he was going to be a different and much better player yet his point total regressed. At one point Huska benched him for a period and was the same rhetoric that it was on him to be better.
He is what he is at this point. Can be an effective mid tier player? Sure. Will he go back to his Florida level of play? Not likely. You just hope at this time to get some value and that his play doesn't further deteriorate (which could be tough given his age).

When looking at cap structure, term and impact, Huberdeau contract is easily the worst contract in the league.
