Shots were 10-4 Flames but ended 18-12 Avalanche by the end of that period. That one MacKinnon shift (with the Hathaway stick slash to centre ice) complete flipped that period around.

As i said a few games ago, the avs are terrible on the cycle. Give them all the zone time they want, they're not scary as long as it's not a rush opportunity.

Gio got caught on the ice...because of a bad play by Brodie. Impossible to do anything when you are that tired

it was a good period and they looked like they finally remembered how to play hockey until the last 6 minutes or so, possibly because the avs took it to another gear

I do not for the life of me understand the fall of TJ Brodie. Four years ago, he was nearly as good as Gio. Sure he didn't have a shot, but he did everything else at a top pairing level.

He hasn't had a major lower body injury or any concussions that I can recall. And yet his decision making and positioning have all gone to hell.

Someone smarter tell me what's happened.

We haven't seen a goaltending performance like this from one of our goalies since 2006.

Can’t tell if you’re kidding? It happens all the time to #13. It happened a bunch of times just in that period. The Flames doubled Mackinnon on at least one instance that I can remember.

Needed that period to end. Glad we got out of it. Flames need to come out looking to put an end to this

What is more surprising? Tampa swept or Smith the best Flame by a mile?

True you don't see them cycling much. Run and gun I guess

No mention of it on the broadcast...that was ridiculous
