It's a big reason, but hardly the only one.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but the "group" isn't a mess - - shots are 25-12 through 2. It's the very serious goaltending concerns that are holding the team back, IMO

It's literally the second game.
I am not saying Peters is a good or bad coach. Maybe you're right and he is worse than GG, but it's crazy to make that call before he has even had a chance to work his coaching.
He pretty much can't be worse than Glen - so there's that.
edit - I guess I was still responding more to your previous comment than this one. We did get unlucky last year, but even with bad luck we should still be a better team this year, and I expect as much.

Then trade Bennett. What is the point in playing him 5 mins. Playing to win sure looks like a plan they are executing well so far this season btw.

Yup. It’s just that every one they have has gone in the net. Can’t get a save because it appears Mike Smith is no longer a No 1 goalie in the NHL

Totally agree. There are some real bright spots. A contender can be built around Gaudreau, Lindholm, Dube, Valimaki, Chuck and Hannifan, but there is too much JAG in much of the line up and I'm not sure Treliving has the mettle to make some risky deals to infuse more juice into the roster. He seems more the type to pursue known commodities than to deal such guys for potential.

Ya I totally don't get how he survives the coaching purges. Especially when the guy we got in Stockton has a great track record.

This game should be 12 - 2 flames. Even for the flames this game has been ridiculous. If this wasn't so sad it would be hilarious.

If the Flames could get a quality return for Bennett he would already be traded

Flames Suck. Can't finish, dumb plays, flames gonna flames.
|
Can't finish? They do have 3 goals through 2 periods and one called back haha. The other goalie has made some nice saves. I just don't see how that comment makes sense at this moment.

Why trade him if the value isn’t there? What’s the point of that?
Trading assets at their lowest has been a mistake for this franchise and you are asking them to do it again

Believe it or not, what he is supposed to. Hanifin is supposed to be covering that passing lane, prout is just disrupting the net front forward but he can't engage with him as that leaves the far side winger open for the empty netter.
It's a 5-3, there isn't a ton a guy like him can do.
