Flames seems to wake up after Bennett's goal. They are hitting, skating harder and outplaying the Oilers. I hope it is not too late.

sad thing is most of the goals against are self inflicted and could have been easily prevented

I mean, at a certain point the onus has to be on the players to perform. Brad Treliving could go out today and trade for Sidney Crosby in a lopsided deal, but after that, it's on Crosby to actually play well. Travis Hamonic, Brian Elliott, Troy Brouwer -- these are all guys with histories of success in the NHL who just faltered after coming to Calgary. How is Treliving supposed to deal with that?

Hire a good coach.

By having a coach who gets the most - not the least - out of his players.
By having a coach who makes tough in-game decisions to sit players.
By having a coaching team that has the players READY at the start of the game - not after they're down by 5 goals in the 3rd period.
That's how.

Treliving, IMO, is the least of this team's problems.

Oilers really haven't played that well TBH
Flames with their two worst periods of the season IMO

Finding a coach who can motivate the players would be a good start.

I don't know enough about Gulutzan's system to say I like it or not like it, but seeing that he put Brouwer on the first PP unit and then put Brouwer on the PK unit, speak a lot about his hockey IQ.

Wrong thread. You want "Glen Gulutzan is a good head coach".
