I'd call it the blackface pic before I called it the "globetrotter" one

just a really stupid thing to do. I don't think he realizes how offensive that is, I'd say it's more cultural ignorance and stupidity than anything ... but yeah, I'm shocked it hasn't been deleted yet, given how micromanaged most athletes' social media accounts are.

Blackface or blackbody? Looks pretty good though I must say, idiotic as it is to do.

Why is it racist to dress up as someone else? This seems like a pretty big overreaction, unless I'm missing part of the story.

Antoine Griezmann

Blackface has been a big no no for a few decades

https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...face-offensive

Lots of articles all over the place explaining it but that guardian one sums it up well

Quote:
.This form of entertainment happened in some parts of the world, but the images were exported far and wide and it influenced the mindsets of many fair-skinned people.

It was called “blackface”, and it made darker people sad and angry even though the fair-skinned people said it was just in good fun.

The dark people knew the laughter was at their expense. In fact, the fair-skinned people made a rule that dark people could only be entertainers in front of fair people if they painted their faces black or acted silly.

looks like the United/Mkhitaryan marriage is pretty much over. Didn't even make the bench in five consecutive games and the BBC say he and Mourinho had a fall-out. Very possible that he's sold in January ... I'd actually be fine with it, he's been way too inconsistent and generally a disappointment.

Dortmund apparently interested in bringing him back, but looks like Inter is most interested. I'd quote them 30m more than any other club.

Where are all our Dutch fans? They know all about blackface, they're about to get slaughtered over it in about 7 days.

I really don't follow United much, but I had this impression that Mkhitaryan was playing really well there? Wasn't it earlier this season that he looked really good for them?

he's a frustrating player to be honest. He is a really skilled player, but constantly disappears in big games and never manages to string together a number of strong games in a row. Which is exactly what Dortmund fans said when he left them, so it's not really surprising. He had a fantastic run of assists early in the season when United scored a ton of goals late in games, but even then his overall contributions were pretty meh and he continued to worsen throughout the season. I'd even go as far and say he's the only attacking player at United that hasn't improved over last season. His EL goals last season were vital and spare him being considered a bust at United, but yeah, I certainly expected more when they signed him. Right now I easily prefer Jesse Lingard and that tells you everything you need to know.

Wow, I didn't watch today, but Everton is back in the top half of the league with the win. I didn't see that coming at all. Big Sam worked his magic faster than usual I guess.

Rightly so.

He's my favourite West Ham player, but flopping like that is not acceptable.

Well Bristol beat United in League Cup, and it was thoroughly deserved.

just came home from the Christmas party. Glad I didn't watch any of this!

in any case, it's hard not to feel happy for Bristol and their creative Twitter celebrations. https://twitter.com/bcfctweets/statu...99537507233797

Wow, I can't believe United lost in the League Cup. Their squad is just not deep enough and they should've taken it more serious. I would imagine this exit against Bristol just leave their confidence in tatters.
