I think Willis should just be a play-by-play guy and let Loubardias fill in the gaps. Get rid of the morning segment.

Johnny in my opinion is the face of the franchise and engine that drives the offense. While a winger should typically not be considered a teams franchise player I think in our situation Johnny is in fact that piece for us. No Gio cap Treliving needs to establish the Johnny cap

I agree... The bar has been raised and management needs to get this. It's not Johnnys fault that the flames have made so many bad contracts that they can't afford to pay him a realistic sum for his unusual talents. Johnny sets the bar... I would love to see others on the team meet or exceed this

I know it just seemed like I was talking out of my ass, but honestly, if I told you who it was, you'd understand why I posted it. Obviously I cannot do that.
I'm gonna be taken lumps on this one for a long time...lol.

Because the season hasn't started yet, Johnny had the World Cup to shake off the offseason rust, and due to Monahan's injury the line that he'll play on wouldn't be firing on all cylinders anyways.
It'll get done. Maybe not until the last minute but it'll happen.

Boy, lots of low information posters. Panicking about the season starting without Gaudreau without looking at Gross' history of having his better clients wait until the very end of the relevant deadline. Worried about feelings in a business negotiation where, worst case scenario for Johnny is that he's a multimillionaire, playing with guys he likes in a hockey crazy environment. Blasting Gaudreau for being greedy for wanting the best money possible when that's what anyone would do.
Real negotiations only just started, it seems. They exchanged offers a while ago, went back to their corners and only now are horse-trading. IMO Gross is a bit out of his league, especially if both Treliving and Edwards are involved. As much as Gross looks good to potential clients if he gets a lot of money for Johnny, he looks bad to the same audience if Johnny sits and loses money and points.
This will get done, and before the first game IMO.

Sources share what they know, but in a very fluid and changing contractual negotiation, what they know now might not be the case 6 or 12 hours from now.

Congrats.
In case no one told you yet, cherish this time. It is magical and goes by so fast.

Exactly. That's what pissed me off about McKenzie's tweet. Even assuming it was accurate it was likely old news by then.

I'm not sure why I want to see this resolved so bad but at this point in time, a Cap busting contract or a statement that says "he's not playing" is better then the........... waiting.

This point has been raised many times. Is there a team in the league that has no bad contracts? Honest question.

Contracts are difficult to define as good or bad, they vary depending on the point at which you're evaluating them.
