I'm as anti-advanced stats as they come, but I don't have a problem with that chart giving us a 51% when you consider what it's using as criteria.
So even despite our terrible Corsi numbers, we're now more likely to make the playoffs using that model, then not. If you go by possession and how the games shape up, it's not crazy to think. We play with fire (hah) almost every game. It's not crazy to think that models based on performance would say that we're playing with fire with our playoff hopes too.

Pretty sure it would be Calgary LA and Nashville chicago. Same result though.

Correct - there is no more re-seeding, it's just a bracket.

That is true. However, that hasn't stopped then recently so I'm not sure how relevant it is

They have one game against a guaranteed non-playoff team (Toronto).
They also have one game each against Winnipeg, Calgary, and LA and there's a good chance that one of those three teams will just miss the playoffs, but all three can basically be considered "playoff teams" at this point.
Most of the playoff teams they're playing are also still jockeying for playoff seeding position, so they're not likely to be coasting to the finish line, which can sometimes make a strong team easier to beat down the stretch.

they have had an extremely easy schedule as far as opponents go...not to say they aren't playing well but it is definitely getting harder for them

Yeah, when Pittsburgh and Anaheim walk into San Jose and Vancouver and lose, strength of schedule loses some value.

I think the schedule also says the Kings will also falter even without the home/away thing. They only have a winning record over 4 of the teams they have left to play, and one of those is Minnesota which is vastly improved since they last met.
That would mean Jets and Kings fight for the last wild card spot, which in turn would mean Calgary vs. Vancouver in the 1st round.
(Unless of course the Kings with their backs against the wall end up sweeping Vancouver, which would shock no-one.)

Hard to imagine there's less than a month remaining, and, the final game is Flames visiting the Jets. I wish I could fast forward through all this and just get to the end.

For me this has actually been the most relaxing seasons ever. The hockey has been great and the results so far beyond expectations that I'm swimming in gravy
Pretty much the worst that could happen is a playoff loss to Vancouver, and I've already decided even that wouldn't spoil my mood.
(Partially because I can't be bothered to hate the Canucks that much this season. I'm not big on rivalries generally speaking.)

LA has a tough run in, with 3 games left against Vancouver and 1 against Anaheim.
SJ has a long 7-game road trip out east to contend with. It's probably come at the worst time for them. I think that it is pretty much going to put them out of contention.
We've only got 5 games left against playoff placed teams.

Before booking a trip to Montreal and Ottawa for the first week of April, I was totally leaning in the direction of trying to get out to that game. But at the time, I was assuming it would be a nothing contest just to go out and enjoy a spring day in Winnipeg. Nope.

With all the relatively weak opponents scattered in between now and those LA/WIN games, and with how confident this team is playing, I wouldn't be surprised to see them win like 9 of 13 and be sitting comfortably above the line. At least I hope.
