However, Sy-Fy has announced a new prequel mini-series, Blood and Chrome.

According to a press release from Syfy, the network has just greenlit a new two-hour pilot for Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, set ten years into the first Cylon war (which would place it about four decades before BSG). The pilot centers on a young William Adama, played by Edward James Olmos in BSG and an adorably annoying child actor in Caprica. Right now, it’s still just a TV movie that might become a series…

I haven't been able to watch any of the episodes that I PVR'd this weekend. I guess I was a little dissapointed that it came across as a little too soap operaish, but had some really neat concepts. But it wasn't enough to make it must see T.V.

I'm kinda wondering if I should bother watching the first 4 episodes of this season, or delete them since I'm never going to see the end of the story line.

A Wired look at an interesting new book, "The Science Behind Battlestar Galactica."

A hint: The Cylons are coming.

I looked at that, and went meh, and deleted the episodes that I hadn't watched. Whats the point if there's another lengthy stretch between episodes.

I didn't mind Caprica. How do they determine viewership? I don't watch any tv but I download a lot of these series off I tunes. I downloaded all of BSG. So do they take that into consideration?

Not really surprising. I actually wound up watching the series even though I didn't like it much. I suppose that's an endorsement of showing episodes 6 months apart - you forget how bad they are.

I can't think of to many prequels that do very well at all.

Can one of the special guest stars be Wolf man Jack.

and can we have super scouts.

And a child genius who commands the fleet with a letter for a name?

Cause that would be awesome.

So, for those who saw it what did you guys think of the last episode?

Spoiler!

It would of been nice to see this go through at least 2 seasons but at least they closed the story lines in the finale. I really wanted to see the build up to the war more, but this will have to do. It was nice they gave a quick glimpse into the future at the end of the episode too.

I'll be honest, once they canceled the season, any interest I had in investing in the series was gone.

I think that they really out smarted themselves on this one and forgot what made BSG such an amazing series.

Once they started in with the virtual reality avatar based stuff they really slowed down the series.

I think that they should have waited longer to roll out a new series after BSG ended, I think that the fans were emotionally exhausted.

I also think that people wanted to see maybe a bit forward from where it was at. I go back to the painting on Commander Adama's wall in the series, thats what people wanted to see.

I'm bumping this thread as I just watched "The Plan"

I'll put my thoughts below:

Spoiler!

All in all I thought it was good, but not what I was expecting. I expected more anticipation, more heart stopping action. Good but not great.

I'm temped to run out to Future Shop and pick up the complete series and watch it again from the start.

The Plan was a massive let down. The Plan was there was no Plan. Cavil just hated humans. WTF is that? All that BS during Season One about the Cylon's having a plan. Please. Ron Moore didn't have a plan for the story arc themselves. They Indiana Jones'd everything and made it up as they went a long. On repeat viewings the series is a massive letdown.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hated the ending of BSG and the Plan. BTW, Grace Park is a terrible actress! I think they really overhyped the show, after season 2 it went downhill, and wtf is with Leoben/Kara? Leoben did a complete 180 and didn't know what Kara was, seriously??

I didn't even know that Singer was still pursuing this. The re-imagined series was all sorts of awesome (even though the ending was weak) so they will have their work cut out for them to take it to the next level.
