The Marcus Vick tweet begs the obvious question: Marcus Vick has $1,000?

Well this comment isn't racist....but it's still stupid.

"Ultimately, every team has to have a quarterback," Pederson said Wednesday, per The Kansas City Star. "I think we have the best in the league."
Smith should be better than Matt Cassel, but come on, at best he's what 20th in the league at the position. The 49'ers didn't hesitate to replace him. If KC keeps hiring people who believe this....we'll continue to make Browns, Chargers, Raiders, Dolphins and Jets fans feel good about themselves.

I doubt he believes it, but what else is he going to say? They have to show that they have faith in the guy.

"I'll tell you one thing, if it was Andy Reid, he would have gotten more than a fine," the player said on the condition of anonymity.
Another veteran Eagles player said that he could not get past Cooper using the n-word and that he didn't think he would ever speak to him again.
"The coaches are saying we should think team first, but this is just crazy," the player said. "Was he thinking about the team when he said that?"
Running back LeSean McCoy was the first player to go on record and suggest that he would have a difficult time forgetting what Cooper had said last month at a Kenny Chesney concert.
"I forgave Riley. It's new. Hopefully it wears off," McCoy said. "But at this point, I speak for myself and other teammates, it's definitely different."
McCoy said that he had considered Cooper a friend. He said he had yet to speak with the wide receiver since he stood up and apologized to the team during a meeting at the NovaCare Complex on Wednesday.
"I didn't see too many people speak to him today," McCoy said.
On Wednesday, when the video was first posted, linebacker DeMeco Ryans and several other veterans said they didn't think that Cooper's slur would divide the locker room. Jason Avant did say that there were some players that may need as long as a month to forgive Cooper.
However, another Eagles player said that there is a definite line being drawn between players who were ready to move on after the incident and those that aren't sure if they can forget what Cooper said.
"If he's on the team, he's on the team," the player said. "Don't mean I have to like him."

I think that really is the bottom line when it comes to the football side of things. I played with plenty of guys I really really really did not like, but it never impacted what happened on the field.

From a football perspective, I can understand why they don't want to cut him. Maclin is done for the year and Cooper is the only big redzone threat. From a PR perspective though, it's a nightmare.

Ahh, so he was #### faced. All is (not) forgiven!
Quote:
"Riley was my friend before the fact and he’s still my friend and teammate going forward,” Kelce said Thursday. “Anybody that really knows him knows he’s not a racist … but sometimes he can get a little bit out of control. We were both pretty intoxicated on the day.”
Cooper, Kelce and several other Eagles players, including coach Chip Kelly, were at the concert. Chesney, during one song, brought the Eagles up on stage. Photos of the moment were posted on the team’s Web site.
Later on, apparently, Cooper had an altercation, he said, with an African American security guard. In the video, first posted on CrossingBroad.com, Kelce is briefly shown placing his hand on an obviously agitated Cooper. The receiver then said, “I will jump that fence and fight every n- here.”

I'm starting to hate this argument, no offense valo403.
I don't hear Bengals officials saying that Dalton is the best QB in the league, or Jags officials saying Gabbert is the best QB in the league, or Vikings officials saying Ponder is the best QB in the league....you see where I am going with this....There is obviously something else that can be said or else we'd be hearing the same thing from all 30 organizations, only 3 or 4 of which have any business saying it.
I do think Sylvan is selling Smith a little short though. I think he might come in higher than 20th in the league for the Chiefs this season.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...
Nothing should make Raiders fans feel better about themselves. They're basically just bad people.

I suppose he could be a top 5 QB in what is a QB poor conference. Only Brady, Manning,
Luck, and Flacco are definitively better. Ben if healthy is, than you have Rivers and Schwab, Dalton.

And the injuries are piling up. Chris Culliver is out for the year with a torn ACL.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 39m 49ers CB Chris Culliver did tear his left ACL. No date for surgery set yet. He will miss this season.

Chicago Bears players are going down faster than Amanda Bynes on a first date
Albeit training camp and preseason, I'm hoping players are sitting out just as a precaution. If not, the Bears could be digging out of a deeper hole then orinally thought, come the season opener.
DJ Williams (right calve), Anderson (injured), Wooton (injured), Bushrod (wearing a boot), Marshall (hip surgery recovery), Jonathon Scott (injured), have all been sitting out lately. Briggs is a little banged up according to reports, but continues to participate. Tim Jennings has been given some time off for personal reasons, unsure if he has returned yet.
Good grief.

Anyone else watch the HOF inductions last night? Speeches always get to me, but Cris Carter's was particularly moving....and Parcells' speech, inspiring and one that made you say "Duh, no wonder he was such a great coach."
Dave Robinson was hilarious. I don't think you could find two finer gentlemen than Jon Ogden and Curley Culp.
Warren Sapp....clearly overwhlemed by it all.
Was a great watch.

$57.25 a month for Sunday Ticket this year from Shaw, Shaw Friends save 15%, that still seems pretty pricey, pretty sure it was less than $40 a month with the Friend discount last year. Yeesh

Carter didn't thank anyone from Minnesota.
From all accounts a highly egotistical player, and hasn't really been humbled. He does have a lot of people to thank...as he mentioned, Buddy Ryan basically kept him out of the gutter (in life, not just the NFL), but giving no credit to any coach or QB from the team that was essential for giving him the stats to get into the HOF and to where he is now, is dumb.
Andre Reed has similar stats but not the same stigma around his personality.

The hits just continue to appear to be piling up, Bryan Bulaga might be done for the season with a torn ligament.
Quote:
Green Bay Packers were hoping for the best while fearing the worst Sunday on knee damage suffered by left tackle Bryan Bulaga.
Sources said Bulaga was hurt at some point during the intra-squad scrimmage Saturday night at Lambeau Field.
He was walking afterward and was seen in the middle of the team’s huddle after the scrimmage.
However, Bulaga reported a problem with one of his knees while in the locker room and received treatment. The players were off Sunday, when the medical staff continued to run tests in an attempt to determine the extent of the damage.
Sources said the Packers had concern that the injury was a torn ligament and would turn out to be season-ending.
