Question 1)

Is he WJC eligible this year?

Question 2)

When was the last time we had a player on the squad who could stick handle like that while at top speed?

Fleury?
Housley?

Huselius would glide after a couple strides. Tanguay was more of a passer than a dangler.

He turned 20 in August so I believe he is no longer eligible for world juniors.. I could be wrong.

What's the deal with Army are they actually in the army or something? Same with Air Force.

If not for the scoreboard, I'd think those were the same goal, wow.

West Point military school. Pure assumption but good chance is that their education is paid for if they serve afterwards

"Everyone backs off when Gaudreau has the puck".

The most terrifying player in college hockey is 5'8".

Double coverage, so he just dishes it off and gives his line mate a break away.

Gaudreau and Arnold have combined for 8 points and a +7.

I'm guessing Dman #3 for Army wasn't on the ice much against Gaudreau after getting beat on those first 2 goals.

Slightly concerned about how easy the NCAA seems to be for Gaudreau at this point.

Don't want bad habits and complacency to set in.

Granted some NCAA teams are bad, but I think at this point if you are the Flames you want him to start playing a higher level of hockey as soon as possible.

I agree sureLoss but is he able to pull the same moves against the other top teams D? Army isn't exactly a high ranked team are they? He is scoring at 2 points per game right now though I believe.. so he must be consistent on the score sheet if nothing else.

He is able to both wrap up his degree this year AND play with his brother, two things he said he wanted to return to college to accomplish. All signs point to him turning pro in under 5 months..

Of course not every game is this easy, but he is simply too good for the NCAA now - he was the most talented player last year - and is now trying to go end to end on a regular basis (and usually does!)

The Flames need to get him out of there and into a higher league ASAP, which would mean at the end of this season.

Another year there would be detrimental to his development

The highest PPG in the NCAA. 7 points in 2 games this weekend.
