No. You can barely see them. The left leg and red shoe belonging to the second kid from the left looks deceptively as though it belongs to Monahan—who is sporting the left red shoe behind the kid with blue shoes. One can barely make out just a bit of the right shoe visible between this kids legs.

Hockey players are notorious for having small lower leg muscles, calfs don't develope well in skates. famous one from my era was Joel Otto, Big, strong and tough but his nickname in the room was "no-calfs" or "out of bounds" because his legs looked like the white out of bounds sticks on a golf course.
Sorry Joel

This is why I think he has a legit chance at the Calder if he can catch Forsberg. He has got some name recognition going for him.

If you stare at those legs long enough it starts to become one of those impossible object pictures..
Or maybe it's one of those magic puzzles that turns into a dinosaur when you cross your eyes.
OK I'll put the alcohol down now.

The local aspect probably has a lot to do with it too. Gadreau's home town in South Jersey is only a 30-40 minutes drive to Philly.

True enough, but I was reading a story on the Las Vegas newspaper website about the ticket drive and they choose to use Johnny at the all star game as the picture to accompany the story.

Yeah, it's pretty impressive how quickly he's caught on. Gaudreau is getting plenty of local press and sponsorship here too. Noticed he's been featured on the Pizza 73 flyer that's been arriving in Calgary homes the past couple weeks. Not often a kid midway through his rookie season gets deals like that.

Or most likely the first Getty stock photo they used. I wouldn't read too much into that.

LOL... the oil tankers happily finished last to secure elite talent, they wound up with a very good, but not great and certainly not elite player, meanwhile the "stupid" Flames finished 3 points out of the playoffs, and looks like they drafted a very good, maybe great player... in the fourth round!
The hockey gods are real, and they think the Oilers are no good

It's also Johnny's first year. If he adjusts to the NHL like he did to NCAA (obviously not to the same extent, I'm just saying trajectory wise) then look out. Elite is not out of the question.

I know counting Johnny out has proved to be a bad idea, but the majority of NHLers had an upward trajectory before entering the big leagues. Otherwise they wouldn't be here.

GOAT!

I'm potentially going to get shot in the face for this, but I haven't been happy with his play for a few games now. I'm not sure what the deal is, but he seems to lose an edge and cough up the pick a couple of times every game as of late. Sometimes it's glaring, other times it's not a big deal, but it's still happening. I don't know what the deal is with that. Maybe exhaustion from not playing this many games in a single season ever?

Gaudreau clearly hit a wall.
...and he still has points in five of his last six games.
