I definitely don't hate the High Sparrow like some do. In many ways, for how he is portrayed, he is one of the purer characters motivated for, seemingly, just reasons.
If his followers weren't so callous and heartless it would be easy to fully respect his position and cause.

exactly. every time he scores a victory against the crown, that s### eating grin of his just keeps getting bigger and bigger. it's like hundreds of years ago when popes had as much power and influence, spiritual and secular as the monarchs.
regarding the Faceless Men, I was under the impression that they were exorbitantly expensive due to their unique skills. how did some two bit community theatre actress afford to hire one? maybe it's cheaper if you ask for the intern, cause half the time they don't even get the job done?
I'm kind of surprised Arya came back to her dorm room after sabotaging her mission, particularly after Jaqen warned she would be toast if she failed. seeing as how she can't beat the Waif in regular, vision-enabled combat, I'm guessing they eventually fight in the dark and enable Arya to use her blind combat skills to win. and then after that? I'd be pretty scared of those guys coming after me, seeing as how they can shapeshift into literally anybody. like Bran, unless Arya's training takes a massive leap forward, she's just not ready.

Is he pure or is he a master manipulator? If you watch that scene he flashes a little grin at the end in the direction of Jaimie. I'm not 100% convinced he's a pure man motivated for just reasons. I feel he's an extremely intelligent man that's using religion as his vehicle to ruling the people.

I'm not 100% convinced of anything where this show is concerned.

I thought they way they showed the High Sparrow lined up with Tommen and Margaery was pretty clear that he's as corrupt and power hungry as anyone else vying for the throne. He even was willing to compromise his "beliefs" to obtain it.
He's a manipulator who doesn't even believe what he's saying.

So this is what I saw from the flashblacks.
Jamie killing the mad king.
The King yelling burn them all. Presumably with wildfire.
We see the wildfire exploding, and since Jamie killed the King before he carried out his plans, I suppose this is showing a future event?
People are speculating the above picture being Ned Stark and his dying sister.
Ned yelling 'where is my sister.' At this point HBO is just teasing us since its pretty obvious what is going on.
Bran sees the Red Wedding, his mother and Rob dying.
Drogon flying over Kings Landing?
Bran sees Jon killing a Whitewalker.
The Whitewalkers turning a human baby into a whitewalker.

Whoever they cast as Lyanna better be a smokeshow considering she started the overthrow of a kingdom

I think the high sparrow works better as a dedicated religious man. I'd actually be kind of disappointed if it turned out he was some total dbag just doing it for the power. the old high septonwas into whoring and stuff. This guy being into the same or into being rich and powerful would be lame.
I think the sparrow as a devout fanatic works best because it shows that even those with seemingly pure intentions and motivations can cause bad things if they are misguided. The militant sparrows and his septas and the walk of atonement stuff is clearly all pretty evil. But he genuinely thinks he's doing good. It'd be so ruined if he did an about face and was only faking it.
He's a devout God fearing man. It's just that he's kinda crazy and his beliefs don't include being nice to people.

I felt like turning the tv off at that point. That was pure filler and other than trying to wow us with a CGI dragon (didn't work), added nothing at all to anything. What a waste of precious episode time. Could've easily spent some more time moving another plot line forward.

High Sparrow has been pretty clear he wants to destroy the social hierarchy of high born vs regular schlubs. His end goal is to marginalize and destroy all the houses that have ruled the land forever.

Not that Loras appeared to be an especially hard character, but they've been doing something pretty awful to him.

I think at this point it is pretty obvious that they are dealing with budget constraints. There are a lot of 'fillers' happening such as the scene you mentioned.
