^^Yup. It's up now.
I wonder, would this offer any benefit over wifi? I downloaded it anyway, just to try on my ipod touch.

Posting from it now. Incredibly fast, but very buggy. Has a weird feel to it too, response-wise.

Buggy how? Posting is hard to achieve, but I updated twitter easily. Some pages don't seem to render quite right though.
It takes a little getting used to, that's for sure.

Wow. Instant hatred for that browser. All the speed in the world can't help me overlook how it looks and feels. I'll take a slow safari over it 100%.

During one session I had, pages stopped loading completely and I couldn't click any links.
I'd type in a new address, it would go to that page and the progress bar would fill up to 100%, but stay full without going away and showing the normal address bar with the Google search field to the left. The page was loaded, but none of the links were active.
I went to a few pages, kept getting the same thing, restarted the app and everything was fine. It happened right after logging into this site, but I haven't tried to duplicate it.

Also... I like that they added a search option to selected text, but I'm not on board with the way they handle selecting the text. The circle thing is covered by my thumb, so I can't see it spin around, and I'd like to be able to adjust my selection before choosing an option (like how it's supposed to be).
Edit: I agree with Russic. The speed is nice, but there's more to a browser than just speed. I'd like to see Apple add that search from selected text feature to Safari though.

Opera's pretty awful. Does a horrible job with text layouts, fonts, and any kind of list. It's fast but it looks like crap.

If anybody is annoyed by one big feature that Safari is missing (find in page), then I recommend Find in Page. It's only $.99 and it adds a bookmarklet into your bookmarks that lets you pull up a find box. There is a free lite version but it doesn't have "next" or "previous" buttons for cycling through a doc. I find it very useful.

I have a quick question maybe some of you here can answer that my telus store cannot seem to. (Or do not want to)
I just picked up a iphone, and I can send out media texts/files but cannot receive any media. Does anyone have any insight? Sorry Im sure this is a dumb question but I'm still trying to figure out how to use the damn thing.

I have to setup an iphone for my mom, is there a way to filter for free apps and ringtones only? Even in the search?

Yes, on the right-hand side of the iTunes Store front page, there's a Power Search link. Click it, and then switch the Results drop-down to Apps. You'll see a check box to only search for free apps.

Yeah I've went through all that stuff and its all set up correctly.
One more quick question then. Those of you that can receive data files on your messaging, are you with telus? I guess Im halfway expecting to hear its not available on through telus or something.

I'm not big into people that talk about their personal fitness all the time, so as a consequence I get real uncomfortable talking about my own, but I figured I'd share.
I picked my wife up a Nike+ transmitter as iPod Touches and iPhones all have the Nike+ app already on them (edit: iPod Touches that aren't 1st generation and iPhone 3G excluded). You put the transmitter in your shoe, start the app and it tracks your distance, plays whatever playlist you'd like, tracks your time and tells you your calories. When you're done it uploads your workout so you can view a log of your workouts. My only gripe with it is that there doesn't seem to be a way to program a staggered workout ... it just takes in data on your speed and time. If you're like me, you can run about 60 seconds before wanting to fall over and puke.
My wife is doing a 5k marathon in a few weeks, so she picked up the Couch to 5k app. It works in conjunction with the Nike+ app (Apple lets it run in the background) so you get all the benefits of the Nike+ system.
What's cool about the Couch to 5k app is that it staggers your activity, so you start jogging for 60 seconds and walking for 90 seconds. A little voice pops into your playlist to let you know when to run and when to walk, and this continues for 30 minutes. It starts off VERY light, so almost anybody can get into it. I've never been a runner but after seeing how well it's worked for the wife I decided to give it a shot. It's actually very impressive and for the first time in my life I am almost kinda sorta looking forward to going for a run.

This isn't the case for the original or 3G iPhones. Only works for the 3GS. If you have an iPod Nano you can buy a receiver to attach to the Nano. There doesn't seem to be a way to use Nike+ with anything other than the Nano, Touch or iPhone 3GS.
