Great game for Fabregas, controlled the pitch throughly. He looked a bit off in his first couple of games (understandably), so it's nice to see him back on full form.
Arshavin is still missing something lately. He did great at getting inside for some good runs, but his finish and footwork are not up to his usual high standards.

It is still a potential concern, but considering it was our two new CBs I'm willing to let them off the hook for this match.

The one thing I have noticed, and maybe I'm looking too hard, is that Cesc doesn't seem to be very happy or having that much fun on the pitch. This is one of the reasons why I was so disappointed when Arsene didn't get a new stop-gap keeper. He convinced Fabs to stay and probably convinced him that we can be competitive yet he failed to go out and get one of the final, and most important, pieces to the puzzle. If we want to have any chance of keeping Fabs we have to start winning things.

Wow, talk about squandering an opportunity.
The Chelsea loss set up perfectly for the gunners to gain ground, not so much...

We are injured but its no excuse, we're still a better squad it just seems like this team thinks they should beat everyone without trying. Definately a dissapointment today.

Fabregas is back running following a hamstring injury. “It looks a 50:50 but a 50:50 balancing on the negative side,” said Wenger.
While Fabregas is likely to declare himself available, Wenger will be acutely aware of the risk of rushing his captain back and the possibility of worsening the injury. Fabregas returned from a hamstring problem to play Aston Villa last December only to aggravate the injury in scoring twice.

Up until this point I think our injuries have been manageable but I think Fabs is crucial to any potential success at Stamford. If he can't make it, hopefully Wilshire will continue his remarkable ascent and combine well with the new-look Nasri.

Fabregas To Miss Chelsea Showdown
01 October 2010
Soccernet
Soccernet Staff
Arsenal have confirmed that captain Cesc Fabregas will play no part in their Premier League showdown with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger declared on Thursday that the Spaniard had a "50-50" chance of playing, but it has now been revealed that a hamstring injury will rule him out.
Fabregas' absence represents a serious blow to Arsenal - who will also be without goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and defender Kieran Gibbs - as they are desperate to get their season back on track following an embarrassing 3-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion in their last league clash.

Ship and Anchor would show it, but I'm not sure if there is a good pub that'll show it. :P

Wow Song, way to turtle on that free kick. You're getting paid millions put your body on the line. That second was a rocket but if Song didn't turtle there is no way it goes in.

Embarrassing. This team has absolutely no steel down its spine. Adams, Bould, Dixon, Keown, these guys must be absolutely embarrassed. From what I can remember, they never got bullied or pushed around by opposing forwards. Drogba must drool at the opportunity to face this bunch of lightweights.
Too bad Wenger is far too arrogant to recognize that you can't win the league with the types of players he currently has. Possession - great, but it just doesn't win you the big matches. Wonder if he will learn?

Zero heart when the going gets tough with this group, talented yes, soft as wet bread, yes. It starts with Wenger's failure to get a top end keeper, but he also hasn't added the necessary veteran presence to lead on the field.

It was an awful gane. Disappointing to see Wilshere get sent off - it was one of the ref's few correct decisions.
Despite his goal, Chamakh is shocing with his feet and completely lacks confidence with the ball on the ground in front of goal. He is constantly looking for someone to pass the buck to, which will be great when Van Persie is back (sweepstake for how many games?) but until then, Wenger needs to have a word in his ear and tell him to shoot. If he can add shooting to his aerial game, he will be a very useful signing.
