That's a ridiculous comparison. She was a tiny girl and if the roles were reversed in this one she probably would have walked away. No way she is going to look at kicking the guys legs out from under him as she is half his size.

Besides, if a guy beats his wife and someone is disgusted at the act, would you go up to them and say "What if she was the one beating him?". Totally irrelevant.

At the time I dismissed the accusations but ever since than I've become more and more aware of such anger and resentment. Someone above mentioned that some people may have issues with their mothers etc. I don't think this is to far off base. If you consider that type of behavior towards women "courageous" I would suggest that you need seek help about your issues regarding the opposite sex.

I disagree, this is not anger and resentment.

We are pointing out that feminism says that men and women are equal.

That means this woman has all the rights and privilages as men.

This includes getting really drunk, throwing a drink in another persons face and getting sanctioned.

If I were to walk up to Brock Lesner and insult him and throw a drink in his face and he punches my lights out, would you care?

No, of course not. Because as an adult I made the decision to provoke Brock.

There is no difference between what I did to Brock and what this woman did.

Attempting to shame us will not work.

It amuses me how many people on here are trying to be Macho Men.

Oooooo....Yeeaahh....dig it!

Here's some of my observations:

First off, I'm not going to get into the debate of 'did she deserve it' or not.

a) I assume he hit on her. She could have said no thanks, and went back to her friends. Silence is a strong tool to use in this situation. Any time a friend of mine was being hit on at a bar or whatever, and declined, if it continued I'd step in and tell the guy to take a walk, or just move her to a different area, and start dancing with her or something. They were never bothered again.

b) I think she thought the same thing that was brought up in the thread, that no man should hit a woman, lady, whatever. I think she thought she was invincible in doing what she did. Clearly, she wasn't.

Reminds me of the 'You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses on, would you?' line.

c) That wasn't a trip, push, or shove. That was a MMA style leg kick. He's lucky she didn't smack her head on the concrete, but I bet she had a huge bruise on her leg. I wouldn't expect that in a fight with guys unless a cage was involved, I totally didn't expect it here.

d) I can't believe none of her guy friends jumped up and defended her. The one guy gave the dude a Nancy shove... and if you look closely, right after the kick, the dude with the white shorts gets the F outta dodge. There's no men in that video as far as I'm concerned. Maybe the one in the bikini who's in need of another drink, but she doesn't count.

As intelligent adults they determined that she escalated the situation by throwing the drink.

I'm sure she felt empowered.

She was sanctioned for her actions just as a male would be.

Feminism states that men and women are equal.

Therefore, there was no need for further escalation of the situation.

Question.

Why do you feel that only her guy friends should have defended her?

Feminism states that men and women are equal.

Why no rebuke for her female friends?

Or maybe he turned her down and she couldn't handle it... who knows.

You've got a pretty screwy idea of what feminism is all about.

Hint: it's not about fist-fighting.

Hes a grown man and shes a grown woman. I'm sick and tired of seeing women exploit that type of reasoning to their advantage and for that reason i giggle like a god damn school girl every time i see something like this.. as long as its warranted.

So, the person throwing the drink is escalating the situation. The subsequent leg-sweep by a person twice their size (correction: more physically imposing) is an equal response.

Gotcha.

So what makes it different if a petite man does this to you and you react the same way?

Sorry, maybe I was brought up with a bit of manners. It's a woman, let it go tough guy. Hey, maybe kicking this crap out of a woman cranks your yank there champ. But for the rest of civilized society slamming a woman to the ground for a simple drink to the face is flat out stupid.

Edit: And a petite man and a petite woman are worlds apart. What part of common sense don't you understand?

Actually, as little fella myself, I tend to get away with much more crap when I go out than my friends do. I don't know if I could get away with tossing a drink at someone, but I've definitely chirped way above my level and have never been hit.

Im not a tough guy by any means. I avoid confrontation whenever possible and am always polite, champ. It's interesting how you cant give a sensible answer to that question .. it's a pretty good one. Maybe it's because this cowboy code that all you real men follow is flawed in some instances.
