When he gets to the right age, start taking him to puppy socializing and early obedience. We went to Sit Happens with our yorkie-cross and we are very happy. I can't stress the socializing enough. YOU NEED TO DO IT.
edit: the right age is 10 weeks and as long as the dog has been with you for 10 days I think it is cool you go. First time is free at Sit Happens and I think it's Thursday evenings at 6:30. Call them and check it out!
I noticed on the flickr page that you said he's half English Mastiff and half lab... I can't even notice the mastiff at all. Certainly not say I don't believe it just can't see it. Although, I am comparing it to my sisters 216lb English Mastiff.
Thanks. I agree. I think he looks like a lab on roids. When you see him in in person, you'll see a bit of mastiff in the face and he's got a head the size of a car battery.
yeah, 216lbs and growing. It's actually a little weird though. The normal dog stuff like sit and lay down are a big deal for him. When he sits in the house he actually puts his butt on the couch (pretty funny to see actually) because it's easier for him to get back up.

I've got him enrolled in Dog Obedience: Puppy Kindergarten, here in Okotoks, starting Sept. 20.
Classes are every Monday evening for an hour each and they last 6 weeks.
Just thought I would resurect this thread with an update.
Ryley is now 16 1/12 months old and doing great. He's been to obedience classes, agility classes, and is doing fantastic in the show ring. He's 1 point away from obtaining his Canadian Champion title. You need 10 pts and at least 1 major win (3 pts minimum). He has 3 major wins.
Here's his latest pic...
