Looks like a couple ringers from the Q provided the boost Hamilton needed to win this one. Game 4 very important for Abbotsford now to tie the series back up.

Hamilton pulled ahead in the second and then literally played crap trap hockey for the last 20 minutes. Deharnais had to stand on his head to keep them in the lead. Unlucky night for the Heat.

yeah, thats too bad. i would have thought no canucks game would have at least helped them get a modest boost. its too bad ahl playoff attendance is so low.

Hamilton goalie Cedrick Desjardins robbed the Heat on many occasions, and particularly frustrated Abbotsford's Western Hockey League line made up of Vancouver Giant Lance Bouma, Spokane Chief Mitch Wahl and Lethbridge Hurricane Carter Bancks.

The hot-handed goalie made a big glove save in the second period on Wahl, who plowed into Hamilton's zone on a two-on-one with Bouma.

In the third, Desjardins denied him, too, as Bouma was standing in front and received a backhanded pass from Bancks in the corner.

But the efforts of his young players pleased Playfair.

"They were responsible on the ice, didn't spend a lot of extra time in their own zone," he said. "I felt, in fact, they outplayed some of our older players. That wasn't the issue for us. I thought they played well."

Kronwall didn't play game 3, but Andy Delmore is back from his injury and having a positive impact on the PP; 7 shots in two games and 3 assists

I like hearing that Wahl, Bouma and Bancks were solid.

I really think Bouma is going to surprise some people. He seems like a kid that rises to a challenge, so to speak. I think he'll be a solid bottom six NHL forward one day.

...and yeah, I know....another 3rd/4th line grinder....just what we need....blah, blah, blah.

Re: Bancks.....is he Flames property now? Or is he up for grabs?

I would assume that Cameron would get called up, but I'm not sure if Brodie has a contract with the Flames (no clue about that though).

2500 fans is not horrible. The numbers in Abbotsford were better than they were in Hamilton (hovering at the low end of 1900), which has NO current professional sports competition at this time of year, and has been regarded a potential NHL city.

Both are now called up. Hopefully Cameron's scoring will help the Heat win the Calder. We'll see now if this overager can play against men instead of other junior players.

Cameron and Brodie aren't in tonight. Gaelen Patterson is playing his first AHL game though tonight.

Hopefully the Heat can win this one. Alot of pressure by the Heat so far in this game.

Desjardins is a diving, flopping, fishy Luongo. He goes down way too easy and the Heat are paying for it.

Listening to the Heat game for the first time, don't mind the country 107.1 announcer's, like how they keep referring to the whl guys as the kid line

Well I was hoping Bouma could step in.

I think the Flames dearly need someone like him in the lineup. Not enough guys that can piss the other team off and get some emotion going.
