+1 with Ryan Reynolds.
If it is going to be a 9 movie marathon, they likely need to find someone in their 20's.

Clearly you haven't seen Pine in Princess Diaries 2. That performance changed my life.

I agree, I thought Pine was the worst part of the star trek movies.

Can Ryan Reynolds go an entire movie without cracking a joke?
He will already be ruining one great comic hero, lets not make it two.

I am by no means a comic book expert - I spent my disposable income on hockey cards with stale gum in it and star wars, lego, and playmobile, if it wasnt made into a saturday morning cartoon I didnt see it. But couldnt captain america use some light hearted jokes.
Its a huge risk going with a noname soap star. Reynolds at least has an ok resume. Plus seeing more Scarlett Johanson at movie premiers is never a bad thing until their inevitable hollywood divorce happens.

Pretty much.
I was hoping that Spock instead of ejecting Kirk in an escape pod would have fired him out of the torpedo tube at Nero's ship.
Romulan - "Nero, they're firing officers at us"
Nero - "Then we'll respond in kind"
Thank you Simpsons.

Reynolds isn't up for Captain America. That was a tangent because he is Green Lantern.

I know, I am just saying why he would have been better than Pine. Theoretically.
I like CA I know nothing about the Green Lantern.

I don't know much about Green Lantern either. But isn't Hal Jordan more of a straight shooter cop archetype?

Think Maverick off Top Gun.
Hal Jordan and Bruce Wayne don't get along very well. This is because Batman's greatest weapon is his brain. His ability to walk into a room and calculate scenarios then act accordingly. Hal's unpredictable nature just throws a huge wrench in this. You never know what this hot headed fighter pilot will do next. This has caused a lot of conflict between him and the Guardians (The Green Lantern Crops "chief of police") over the years.
He is constantly getting into trouble for crossing the line and always living on the edge. He was one of the first Lanterns to actually question the Guardians judgement, and would continue to do so. But how do you get rid of the greatest ring slinger of all time? They need him just as much as he needs the Corps, he needs that balance in his life or it would all be chaos.
He might wear the ring, but Hal Jordan lives by no ones rules.
HIIIIGHWAYYY TO THE DAAANNNGGERR ZOOONNEEE...

Another IGN update has Marvel Studios making an offer to Chris Evans
http://movies.ign.com/articles/107/1078888p1.html
if true I like the casting. I dont know a whole lot about Captain America but Evans definitely has that "all-American" look. He's got proven big screen appeal, but not so much that it over shadows the character. In recent years he's done some very good work with Push and Sunshine being two of his best IMO

so if Marvel's ultimate plan is indeed to bring the whole universe together and make a Civil War movie, how are they going to go about it with one guy playing 2 heros?

Doesn't matter because the FF franchise is being rebooted (and re cast) anyway.
And for those who don't know, Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) is going to be directing the reboot of the Superman franchise.

Also to add there is a rumor that this kid, Logan Lerman, is in the running to play the new Spiderman.
