If it is going to be realistic, there will have to be at least one female blood elf hunter dancing naked on a mailbox or in an auction house at some point.

Are you asking if the orcs are wearing anything under those loincloths? They might adhere to the code of the Scots...if Orc 'equipment' is your thing though theres nothing wrong with that....

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
How weird would it be if Angry Birds breaks the trend?
I'm honestly trying to think of a game that would work. Last of Us is the best I can come up with.
If this was the 1990s you could make a decent sci fi series out of Mass Effect.
The problem with stuff like The Last of Us or Uncharted is that the games themselves are already very cinematic/movie-like. They'd be pretty hard to top, and always on your mind.
Especially Uncharted. Nolan North is Nathan Drake, there's no way around that.
But would it be Fem-Shep or Male-Shep? That would be a movie/series I'd be into though.
Early 90's: Male Shep. Played by squarest-jawed, whitest Kevin Sorbo lookalike available.
Late 90's: Fem Shep. Played by Kate Mulgrew or similar.
Oh 1990s.

It honestly seems like Warcraft fans like it/love it, and a lot of the critics simply don't get it. It has a metascore of 36/100, yet the IMDB user score is 8/10.
I generally don't trust IMDB scores. I haven't looked up Warcraft specifically, but I remember for Civil War, people were "rating" it a good year in advance saying things like "It's a Marvel movie, therefore it will be good. 10/10". Mind you Civil War was pretty good....but that's beside the point lol.
That being said I could totally see it being a hit with Warcraft fans. I have no sense about the Warcraft lore whatsoever, despite having played Warcraft 1-3, and recently dabbling in Hearthstone. But yeah I could see the mass appeal as being lacking.

This is interesting, because the game is pretty open concept with an interesting background story. It's not already cinematic like Last of Us, so you could probably carve out a pretty good story in this universe with the right writer. I'm actually more interested in the movie than the game in this case (Division looked kinda meh to me), and I actually liked Prince of Persia, so there's that too!
Wing commander could have been a really good movie, but Chris Roberts butchered his own lore and completely wrecked it, and tried to make it Beverly Hills in space.
I keep thinking that even the novels like End Run, Action Stations and Fleet action could have made really exceptional movies.
Plus you have a great story of the incredible fall of a hero in it.

So I finally saw it, didn't have to pay so figure what the heck, and I'll be honest I quite enjoyed it. Probably have to be someone who played it and loved it back in the day to enjoy the film, I can't imagine how people unfamiliar with WoW could just jump in and enjoy it at all.

Just to show the future of movies, this might not do very well in North America, but it had the second biggest opening ever in China and could make $200 million alone just there. So sequels seem likely if it does ok in North America and isn't a total bomb.

I fully expect to enjoy this movie as a former WOW player. I know all the critics will tear it apart but I don't think they can ruin it for me, nor do I care what they have to say. Not like BvS where it was just a total screw up of the content, this they can't really screw it up for the fans. I look forward to renting it when it comes out in a few months.. or maybe a rainy weekend afternoon before then.

I've heard that not even a WoW player, but someone who played any of the original Warcraft games (1 and 2) will really like this movie.
Makes lots of sense considering the timeframe in the Warcraft storyline this takes place in.
Most of what I read agrees that anyone who has played any Warcraft games will appreciate the movie even with its faults, but otherwise it might be a dud to everyone else.
