I think it is the name as well. Most people might not know it is a big store chain related.

Its basically perfect for a suburb. It was a small store that had your basics. Lightbulbs, mower oil, softener salt, ice melt, fertilizer.

If it was something basic that a homeowner needs that isnt major they had it so you could just pop down there quickly.

Albeit into the Douglasglen Mall whose entrances and exits were presumably designed by Satan himself as a final parting jab at God and all that is decent in humanity, but still, you could avoid going through an enormous big-box store looking for something minor and just pick it up locally and keep going with your project.
130th was supposed to have more connector roads in the back, but that all got NIMBY'd down.

Glad the Midnapore Old Totem made it through as well. I love that place and with the Home Depot and Lowe’s in Shawnessy I figure it’s days are numbered

The reno-depot closing is too bad. That place had unreal prices on some things. We replaced our exterior doors with ones purchased there recently, and it was 1/2 the cost of comparable from HD or Lowes. Their promotions are stackable with their email signup coupon! Will be checking out liquidation there for sure. Too bad it didn't end up getting converted to a Lowe's. That's what the staff told me was the plan last time I was there.

Rona has already abandoned that Symon Valley property, after sitting empty for a year Reno Depot took it over, that only lasted about 3 years, I didn't realize it was a Lowes until this past summer.

Might have just been overbuilt for the area too early, it is only the closest hardware store to about 25,000 people. Home Depot has nearby locations in Beacon Hill and Panorama.

I didn't shop there very often but quite a few times I found some awesome clearance deals and some weekends they had those awesome deals where they gave away free stuff. Buy a $20 bag of fertilizer and get a $20 gift card.
