The real question isn't whether or not dog owners should pay fees or not. It is why in the hell would Calgary build 15 new dog parks in the first place?

Fees are a stupid idea but building specialty parks for dog owners is equally stupid. Bronco was right in this case. Parks should be for everyone. Runners, bikers, dog owners, kids etc. If people want specific dog only parks they will have to pay fees, there is no real way around that.

Yeah but pathways are for everyone. The new proposed dogs parks are just for dogs.

City wants to build new parks that are off leash areas but have numerous other uses. Sure that is great.

However, our city council should not be in the business of building dog ONLY places in our city.

If dog owners want private parks they should pay for it but not through user fees at the park, it should be included in the registration costs.

When the city builds a pathway as taxpayers we ALL pay for it because we can all use it. If dog owners want new off leash areas they should all pay for it because I, as a non-dog owning person, can't use this park. Not just that I'm choosing not to use it, like the pathways, I cannot use it at all.
