Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly try their hand at "Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy." Ferrell makes a convincing Bowie as he wanders over to the home of Crosby (Reilly) and the two launch into their duet. Aside from being funny, we have to admit the boys do a pretty solid job singing the song. If you were having trouble getting into the Christmas spirit so far, just give this a listen and you should be all set.

Back when I was in H.S. I worked retail for awhile, once during Christmas season. It made me despise Christmas music because we played a CD with like 8 friggin songs on it...all day...every day.
Thought I was finally over it until this morning I heard my #1 most hated Jesusmas song from that time. It goes something like "We are...ha-aaving...a wonderful Christmas time!" Pretty much has the same effect on me as Relax to Derek Zoolander.

The Original:
This only works if you see Crosby sneaking into his den to beat down his kid with a bag or sweet velencia oranges. They leave less bruises David, that's my Christmas tip to you.

I hated christmas and christmas music until I had kids. When my kids sing and dance and get happy after listening to Christmas music, it honestly brightens my day.
I guess it helps that we don't play it at work so I don't have to listen to it all day too.

there's a Bob Mould/Craig Kilbourn version of the Bowie/Crosby thing too isn't there?

My daughter cranks this one up every night and sings along. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkCxiba1bmA
Best part of the day although as soon as the 25th comes and goes I will have to wean her off of it.
Most Christmas songs exist as part of our collective unconsciousness, so we don't exactly put a magnifying glass to the lyrics to examine them for logical integrity. (Although, is logical integrity truly not what the Christmas season is all about?) But last night on "Conan," Patton Oswalt tore apart "The Little Drummer Boy," and came to the conclusion that the song makes no damn sense. At all.
"I have a two and a half year old daughter, and I never go, 'She will not settle down and go to sleep. Does anyone have a percussion instrument? Or half a can of coffee beans I can shake in her face?'" Patton joked, referring to the Drummer Boy in the song playing his drum to lull the baby Jesus to sleep. "Where were you when my baby had the croup, Neil Peart?!"

this is the x-mas lyric that always confused me:
