I've gotta disagree with this. I think it's perfectly fine to be loyal to a brand. When I buy something from a company, I know exactly what to expect. That's why all my sticks are Easton Synergy ST's, my lid's a Reebok, visor is an ITech, skates are Easton's, two of my vehicles have been Mazda's, why I'll never buy a phone that isn't a Motorola, the list goes on and on. I've had great experiences with all that stuff, and I'm used to it. I know exactly what I'm getting and how well it's going to work for me when I buy it. It's a reassurance sort of I guess.

To a point, I agree.

When it gets to the point that you're actively taking time to cut down non Motorola phones you might have a problem. If you're mocking someone for their non-ITech visors... if you're acting smug and condescending to people who want to use something other than an Easton Synergy ST sticks... if you feel the need to educate people about the benefits of driving Mazda's and only Mazda's at any possible opportunity if they want to hear it or not... if you're blind to the problems of Easton skates but will shout from the rooftops about other brands' flaws...

Ah true, true. That's a good point. I guess I'm very committed to certain brands, but I'm not an obnoxious fanboy about it. If somebody were to ask for an opinion, I know what I'd recommend, but I don't think I'd be shouting off of any rooftops about the stuff I use haha.

Breaking news!

Apple will drop the aircraft carrier-like T-shirts that are color-coded to indicate the employees' skills. Visitors have reported that seeing orange, dark blue, light blue, medium blue and black T-shirts is simply confusing. Beginning soon, the entire store staff will wear the same color T-shirt, with that color changing from time to time.

...also, they are dropping the incredibly sluggish WindowsCE-based EasyPay terminals in favour of the iPod Touch with a new point of sale app...

First, the iPod touch scanner will allow employees to capture data from products that have multiple barcodes using a single pass, including the UPC, Apple serial number and product code, cellular IMEI and ICCI numbers. Second, the new set-up will allow employees to accept cash for purchases without hiking to a central register position.

No word yet on whether Microsoft will be following along with these changes, by switching their previously-copied, multiple-coloured shirts to an all-beige style... and whether or not they will start using Zunes as their point of sale devices.

On a serious note, one of the changes I like is they are going to be combining some of the positions into one role, which should help free people up to assist with various needs all at once.
