As someone who isn't really a fan, although I like a couple of their songs, I do find their pissy attitudes hilarious. I don't know which is which, but I recall an impromptu interview several years ago where the reporter (or maybe it was just a fan) asked one of them on the street about their new upcoming album. The Osasis guy said that it was going to be a great album. I am paraphrasing, but it went something like this; "It's a great album, everyone is going to love it. Now you're going to leave me alone, yeah?", and then he just walked away in the direction he came from.

Granted, it looked like he was just doing his daily business and didn't expect to get stopped and put on camera. I can respect that famous people deserve privacy, but man it was so rude I couldn't help but laugh.

When the biggest comeback tour in recent memory rolls through North America and one of the 5 stops is in East Rutherford, NJ, I have to believe that's the case.

After Oasis were hailed in the UK as the second coming of the Beatles, they toured in the U.S. and hardly anyone outside the college crowd even knew who they were. Liam had a meltdown over American media not treating them as mega-stars and threatened to go home.

So it’s not surprising they’re only doing a handful of shows in North America on this tour. The blow to their egos if they didn’t sell out in Cincinnati or wherever would be shattering.

Metlife is the biggest venue in the NYC area. Not exactly a placeholder while they fill in additional dates.

Yeah...we should see which of the band members is the hardest up for cash.

I mean, both from a money and fun (for them) standpoint it makes total sense. Why go play in a bunch of cities they don't want to visit to 3/4 stadiums when they can play 1-3 sellout shows in various cool cities, rake in a bunch of cash, and go home?

That's what I would do too if I was them.

Paul McCartney doesn’t need the money, but he still does 25+ city tours.

This is clearly just a cash grab by Oasis. But one that’s being carefully calibrated to only play just enough places to pad their wallets while spending the minimum amount of time doing something they hate (playing together). I just think they’re also still bitter that they never really broke big in the U.S.

I suspect that if sales are strong enough they'll add extra dates at some of those 5 venues instead of adding other cities

If you've been following what they've been saying for over a decade , they've been very clear that it's 100% about the money (Noel especially). Frankly I find his candour refreshing and hilarious, but then I've always found their wanker-ness highly entertaining.

You can say they're bitter about not breaking into America, but most interviews seem to point to more of a regret. They basically arrived on a wave of ego and crystal meth and blew their chance. Elton John has chastised them for doing too many drugs and screwing it all up. Do you know how many drugs you have to do for ELTON JOHN to call you out on it?

I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but every tour is a cash grab and 100% about the money. It’s literally the point of a tour.

IN fairness money is tight, too tight to mention
