I really liked him actually, then all the drama came about last summer and we doubled his wages, then he crapped the bed this year. Played lazy, called out the fans (who were justafiably pissed at him for the offseason) and just generally didn't finish at all this year.

I'd rather spend that money on a defensive midfielder that we so sorely lacked last year. We have plenty of attacking options to make up for the goal scoring (van Persie, Bentdner, Vela, Eduardo and Arshavin).

I can't beleive Man City is doubling his wages again after his dismal season.

I see, well Man City seems to have adopted the Man U/RM approach to team building, which is to buy until it stops sucking and then get rid of the extras, while throwing in a little Tampa Bay Lightning Style....keep buying forwards and hope the rest takes care of itself.

I must say though that Man City will have a pretty impressive attack though; Robinho, Tevez, Jo, Bellamy and Roque Santa Cruz will give them lots of options.

Sooner if you add Adebayor.

Problem is that they're all really highly paid, tough contracts to unload. I'm surprised Robinho has lasted this long frankly.

Manchester City have signed central defender Kolo Toure from Arsenal for a reported £16m on a four-year contract.Toure, who had seven years at Arsenal, passed a medical on Wednesday and is City's sixth signing of the summer.

Toure was bought for 600,000 pounds.....sold for 16,000,000 pounds...now that's quite the return.

He was never quite the same post-malaria. But I have to wodner if Arsenal is ever going to find a defensive midfielder.
