Maybe I'm just too traditional of a gamer, but I can't say I'm excited at all about Natal. If I wanted to do that much movement playing a game (ie. like simulating playing tennis), why wouldn't I just go and do the real thing? (ie. actually going to play tennis)? I see this as a pretty fun party game accessory, but man $200 US for that is pretty steep.

Just by reading some of the press releases I have a hard time coming up with ways to integrate this Natal thing into a game that wouldn't hurt the user experience. Might be ok for a small, casual game or application, but the more in-depth games might go from "fun" interaction to "work". Did they just give tech demos at the conference, or was there actual game concepts shown?

And if Molyneux is involved, I'll call BS right now until proven otherwise.

If you happen to be sick at home today (actually sick, I swear), G4 has all the conferences live ... EA is on now.

EA MMA? How well will it work without UFC?

Dear NHL10,

Madden10 has online franchises. You may want to get on that.

Cheers,

Russic

I'm sure it'll be fine. There are big names out there that aren't exclusive to UFC (Fedor, Arlovski, Sylvia, Asian dudes that I don't know etc).

The EA presser was boring. No new info on Mass Effect, nothing on NHL 10 either. I know they won't put it in, but Online Franchise would be so fun for NHL 10.

Ubisoft one is on now. The Gamespot feed sucks, and IGN isn't streaming it. I want to see Assassin's Creed 2!

Well this Ubisoft presser is pretty brutal. 25 minutes so far of info on movies and nothing on gaming. Although Cameron is talking about Avatar so it isn't all bad.

Edit: Well Cameron is talking a lot, holy cow.

they showed the assassin's 2 trailer. Looked pretty awesome, but no game play.

The new Splinter Cell looked pretty sweet also.

Yeah, I watched it else where. If the games look like that trailer, this will be the best looking game, ever.

I'm looking forward to an exciting Nintendo conference that will restore my faith in the Wii as a gaming system. I also hope to see Reggie strutting around for an hour showing off charts and talking about how awesome they are.

I'm a little concerned as my ign feed that is only playing music right now can't play for longer than a couple seconds without buffering. Hopefully it gets better in 15 minutes ... I want to see those charts WhiteTom is talking about!

Seriously though, last years nintendo conference was so undeniably laughable that they have to bring their A game. Then again, this is the wii we're talking about. They could probably bring their G game and still sell 10 million consoles by July. As long as that chick that looks like Palin doesn't show up we'll be fine.
