I just want Fantasy Draft...that's all I'm asking. It seems most other sports games have it, why not NHL series?

i know there may be a certain bias being that these games are developed in Vancouver, but i find it a bit ridiculous playing my Flames Be-A-Pro and facing a Canucks team that somehow traded for Zetterberg, Malkin, and Bouwmeester in the same season
at least the game got one thing right in that the Canucks will still suck no matter who they get, as they're currently in last place in the division on my season
Personally, there can be cases where players can go a period without a whistle break. It nice to have a little break between periods because of the amount of action that can go on constantly.

But the periods are only 5 minutes online, so it can't be that intense.
I am guessing there will still be a TON of USELESS replays on NHL 10, eh?
- the players seem to have facial animations now. I think it was 2002 where the game had marc crawford in it and he always had a goofy ass grin on his face. Sorry, slight tangent, just got me thinking.
- You can shoot from your knees? That could be pretty cool.
- I could be looking too deep into this, but in this crowdshot (I didn't capture everything for size reasons) I don't notice any boston fans waving towels (only blackhawk fans). If that's the case I'm very impressed.
I couldn't get the HD link to work for me, but this one should do for now...
HD Windows Media worked fine for me. The Flash link gave me an error message.
Whoa! That was a pretty sweet trailer! The first person fighting looks intense. I hope they don't have things like the goal from the knees too often. Having it once in a blue moon would be great, but if it occurs too often, then it's an arcade game!
Did Hemsky just check Regher? Really? Trailer looks awesome. I've bought every EA NHL game since 2006 and every year I get more excited for the next one. I can't wait.

It wasn't a check. Looked to be more of the board battle engine mentioned earlier, as it looks as if Regehr shields the puck with his feet as Hemsky bounces off.
Also, the fighting engine looks neat, as there are actual stars when your avatar get's clocked in the head.
The 2 goalie animations that I noticed were both of the off the shoulder type saves, where, instead of the puck bouncing and just dribbling down the goalie, they either catch the puck, or in the case of the 2nd animation, they spin around and bat it out of the crease.
No mention of the change in passing, which IMHO will affect everybody. (more realistic, and less arcadey, but some people will not adapt at all and there will be complaints. Unless they don't pass and just shoot.)

Well, Boston fans are still jumping up and down cheering for the same thing Chicago fans are, sans towels.
Watching the crowd erupt after the Ovehckin goal means its certainly taking a step in the right direction for crowd dynamics, but still a whole lot of retro jerseys (and opponent team jerseys) in the crowd shots.
A minor annoyance, really, but still, other then the riviallry games, and the sunbelt games when Flames fan go to Phoenix, you see a hanfull of opponents jerseys in the 17K crowd, not 10 a section.
Fighting and facewashes look cool, and improved shoulder saves, although I hope the turn and swat are toned down, like the stack the pads play was this year after a patch, but the pop up and trickle down the back happened almost every game...sometimes it bounced in, sometimes it got a quick whistle.
Hopefully the cheat goals are even harder to master (CM Punk and I were down 8-0 last night not even done the first period after 5 "small toe drag, far post high" shots and 3 cross crease pass cheese goals) then this year, although that may be asking too much too. At least, lets hope they're different cheats so that it takes 6 months for them to be mastered, not carrying over from this year right away in October.
Sounds like some have their "fantasy" element to this game too..Luongo hoisting the Cup is one thing, Moreau is quite another.
I only knew it was Luongo because his shoulder pads took up most of the screen.
One area of improvement I would like to see is the goalies covering the puck when it is at their feet. There is nothing more annoying then having the puck fall to the goalies feet for him to stand there while the other team pokes it in after 10 seconds of it just sitting there.
