^^^ I notice there are a lot of posters in the game thread that aren't regular posters on CP anyway, so I'm not so sure it's a huge thing.

A lot of the regulars stay out of there, like you mentioned. It can be a pretty rough thread many nights, sometimes it's just not worth it.

The story on red squares:

- Used to be post count
- To reduce emphasis on post count, it turned into blocks (black pucks at first?), and skill (assigned by some sort of quasi-mods) was introduced with red squares.
- It was suggested that post count be changed to exp. and red squares to match skill.
- Some wanted to add mana to go with experience and skill, but it didn't happen.
- Skill was dropped as it was too much hassle to argue with people who didn't like their negative skill (blue for Oilers!)
- Thanks was introduced.

It would be great re-introduce skill, just tie the red squares to number of thanks received.

Am I going to be the first to admit I'm totally prejudiced against new posters? Not that I have an epic post count myself but I've been kickin' around since the dark days.

I'm more apt to read posts from people I recognize and made an impression from years ago before team success meant this site got overrun with wieners. There hasn't been a new user catch my attention in a long time. That jeremywhilem kid, despite being annoying at first, has been much better lately. I think he's the only new guy I've accepted. I'm one of those guys who can't use the ignore feature though just in case some dummy comes up with something intelligent once and a while

There's probably a few more good youngins but their names escape me right now. I only remember jeremy cause he posted so much at the beginning I seriously thought of revising my "no-ignore" policy! Oh, and CalgaryinSeven!! Where'd that guy go? I don't think any new users should have a "post-pre-day" or over 10.

I guess I'm done alienating people on the site now. Don't listen to me anyway, my posting frequency has diminished ever since The Man shut down the jailbait thread.
