Ventured out today to check in on the boxing day sales. What a fricken zoo.

Future Shop in Shawnessy was a gong show with massive lineups to pay for things and way too many people cramed in all the isles. Took a quick look and walked out.

WalMart was much the same. Too many people and long lineups at the tills.

Decided to head back home - not worth it.

Bad bad decision. Still spent 600 though.

Picked up a new TV today at Soundsaround, and it wasn't as much of a zoo as I had expected. Got a pretty good deal too!

I went to Chapters today (I was out of books to read) it was pretty much normal traffic, but they had some really good deals on books. (I picked up Dave Kings Hockey Diaries, a book on the Korean war, and a hard cover fiction) for 60 bucks.

Then I went to Safeways and they had short lines.

No way I was going to an electronic or clothing store today

I debated about going out to look for some games but yeah I figured it would be a zoo out there so I managed to get Fable 2 from amazon for a nice price, and then got COD5 and WiiFit from Bestbuy from the comfort of the home office.

A little bitter that blu-ray players weren't better priced out there I was hoping for some steal deals but only the old or unreliable crap was on sale.

I didn't go out anywhere, I've been pretty well snowed in here for the last two weeks. They keep on saying the rain is coming tomorrow, we'll see.

I can only recommend some of the online dealers such as icejerseys, rivercitysports, sportsk, coolhockey, and jerseyexpress.

No worries, my wife buys a small, I don't even bother getting her the women's cut. It does the job but yeah a bit baggy but she doesn't care.

Agreed. I didn't find one that was a good price to buy.

I went to FS around noon and bought a harmony remote and realized it was BB who had that model on sale. So I had to go to BB at South Common, and wow, it was nuts. Just jammed with people. I got my remote and got the hell out of there. Then the wife and I headed to West Edmonton Mall and you guys can imagine what that was like. All I got was a remote for boxing day. The store I wanted to get my lens, didn't have it in stock, so that sucked.

Went to Future Shop in heritage Meadows for a Canon SX10 IS.

Walked in, straight to the camera counter...got them to price match my printed ad from Vistek. In & out in approx 10 minutes.

Then spent a half hour at starbucks for some kinda soy tea drink for my wife.

Don't you guys think this Samsung BDP-1500 is a good BD player? $179 reduced from $299. I know it used to sell for $399 or more when it came out last spring.

I picked that up on christmas eve for the same price...it is a great stand alone blu ray player. I've compared it to higher end ones and can't really notice a difference in visual quality.
