I think it actually might do the place some good - I used to enjoy the place a lot more when it appealed to a wider demographic (ie - not just people with more money than sense). I have no interest in paying $200+ a night for a room I'm not going to sleep more than 3/4 hours in, and I'm similarly not interested in blowing $1000+ a day so I can get that room comped.
It used to be Vegas was a great value where you could go away for a weekend and not come back destitute; now you can spend the same money that you'd spend there in 3 days and go somewhere else for a week, so the allure diminishes greatly. I'm by no means a cheapskate, but I can gamble, watch strippers and get royally pissed here for 1/10 the price of Vegas, so why bother anymore?
