Smith was a warrior and as a clutch a receiver that the NFL has seen, should be a hall of famer, but look at the struggle At Monk had getting in. Is he staying in the organization Displaced?

Yeah, in the press conference Bowlen said he was going to do whatever it took to make sure Smith worked for the Broncos in some capacity and Rod pretty much accepted the offer in his portion of it.
Monk should've been in years ago. Monk is also the only retired receiver, not already in the hall, with more catches than Rod. Maybe he will make it.
Shanahan brought up an interesting stat in the PC. He said that during Rod's 11 years of playing, the Broncos won 110 games. Evidently only one other player in the NFL was part of more wins than that during the same period of time.

Not coincidently, two of the biggest QBs to ever play in the NFL -- Gray is ~260 lbs and Lorenzen is at least 285 lbs!
The Colts also waived two-year practice squad QB Josh Betts yesterday, so it will be interesting to see if either Gray or Lorenzen challenges Jim "Stickman" Sorgi, who is about 100 lbs lighter than either Gray or Lorenzen. I actually like Sorgi -- he knows the system well and has learned a lot from watching Manning over the past 4 seasons... he also seems pretty content in his role.
My bet is that both will be released by the start of the season, and the Colts will once again only have 2 QBs on their roster, with rookie Adam Tafralis on the practice squad.

Colts were the most banged up team in the nfl last year. Getting everyone back without losing any major starters for the second youngest team in the league, forgive me for picking the colts to once again finsh on top of the afc standings.
No doubt this team has there question marks in terms of health, but theres a reason they've been one of the top 2 most consistant teams in the nfl the last number of seasons.

No need to apologize. Every fan is entitled to their opinion. Colts fans have every right to feel optimistic since they have had an elite team for a few years. Things do come to an end though. Colts are not in an easy division like the Pats or Chargers. If you think the Colts are going to dominate thats great. I just think that they will have a heck of a challenge ahead of them.

Any news on super Carl getting Dorsey signed? Seems the agents for the rookie linemen are waiting for this deal to slot in their clients, and the Saints need to get Ellis in camp.

In classic King Carl fasion nothing will happen untill the second week of camp. First practice finished at 10am, so you have a week to wait.

Surprisingly botch the pick before (McFadden) and after (Gholston) Dorsey are signed. So you'd think it would be relatively easy to sign the guy now?
I really really hate these rookie contracts.....that's why I'm glad the Vikings traded away their first rounder and spend their money on a proven commodity!

You would think so wouldn't you? Carl is an ass. This happens every year with the Chiefs top pick. The last first round pick the Chiefs had in camp on time was LJ if memory serves.

Whats especially frustrating about this is that the Sedrick Ellis camp is probably not going to do anything until Glenn Dorsey signs, to see what kind of money they can get from the Saints. So until KC antees up, I dont expect to see Sed at Saints TC.

Haha I feel bad posting too much Saints news, but I know there's a few on this board and this one's kind of a big deal(like me): Deuce McAllister missed practice with swelling in his knee, and had to have it drained. He's going for an MRI today. IMO that is NOT good news for him, I have a feeling he may be just about done. Too bad LaMont Jordan has already been snatched up off the market by the Patriots this afternoon too.
I'd get Alexander or Davenport on the horn quick, or pray that the Pierre Thomas we saw in the season finale is the real deal.

I'm thinking Alexander signs this week there. It's as close to home (Kentucky) as he is going to get and it's a legitimate playoff team that needs a feature back. No brainer.

49ers haven't looked good so far this season. Michael Robinson had surgery for torn cartilage in his knee. Joe Staley is recovering from an infection in his foot.
Patrick Willis is looking good so far. I don't think he is a sleeper anymore.

Tampa Bay have a good QB already in Jeff Garcia so why would TB pick Favre up? Besides, as I remember Gruden is a coach not the GM.
I think the best place for Brett Favre to move is to Chicago Bears as their starting QB Rex Grossman(sp) is so inconsistent.

You gotta be high to suggest the Pack move Favre to a division rival, and as for Tampa I was referencing Gruden's love of QB's. As for Saints fans, Ellis has finally signed.

The Packers trading Favre to the Bears would be like the Flames trading Iginla to the Oilers. Not in a million years.
btw good to see Sed finally inking his name on a contract, can't imagine why it took four full days after the Dorsey deal...

Ummm..im right here. What's your point?
2 weeks ago I beleived that he would still be in GB. I no longer believe that as it is clear that Ted thompson and his ego have won the war in within the franchise and the Packers have decided they are actually better off going ahead with a guy that has never started an NFL game instead of a guy who owns almost every meaningful passing record in league history.
Favre wants to play in GB, McCarthy wants him in GB, a majority of Packer fans want him in GB...but the GM doesn't. The franchise is looking like a mickey mouse outfit at this point IMO.

And they still look a million times better than Favre does at this point.
I hate the Packers but I really hope they end up winning the SB while Favre leads whichever team he goes to to a 5-11 record.
Hopefully next year when Favre cries about how tough it is for him to retire ESPN et al will be smart enough to leave the cameras there for the press conference two weeks later when he changes his mind again.
