I love this show because it really does make you think.
Truth. More than anything our society lacks the ability to make one think for him or herself. Kind of unfortunate we turn to hollywood to fill the void when there's plenty to think about in the real world...but that's OT.
Great episode, I have no clue where they are going with this show now...Did anyone expect this much revealing in season 4? The show could be very different by the end of the series in a couple years at the rate its moving right now.
What revealing, they keep teasing you with revealin and then swerve and reveal nothing but more questions.
I had the cover up figured out a few seasons ago when they were told that they were all dead.
The only thing that they did tonight was add more people to the plot.
Frick. Ben with his I know why they're here, then says I have a spy on their boat, thats not revealing anything.
And the lawyer that works for Oceanic which is probably owned by Hanso, which built the Dharma initiative.
And the polar bear in the desert, are we to assume that A) there's more Dharma initiatives out there, or B) you can get anywhere in the world from that Island and that the electromagnetic pulse device is some kind of transporter that beamed flight 815 1000's of miles off course?
Bah
Sure enough I'll be watching again next year
But answers, they teased us with them and gave us dick.

man, watching this show on tv vs. renting on dvd made me realize one thing. I hate commercials and Lost seems to have more xcommercial breaks than any show I've ever watched. Although I watch HBO primarily so that might be the issue. This show is either gonna have the greatest payoff ever or It will be a wasted 150 hrs of my life.
Here's the other thing from Jack's flash forwards. Twice he makes mention of his father in the present tense. Once when he tells the cheif of physicians to "go upstairs and see if I am more drunk than my father." The other time in the pharmacy when he tries to use a prescription written by his father.
Now I understand that he may be forging his father's prescription pads, or that he may have forgotten that his father was dead, but it does strike me as a little odd that in the flash forward his father gets mentioned twice.
That is all because Christian is alive.
Here's the actual beginning of Season 1 Episode 1.
They released them as mobisodes for verizon customers before this season started. You really have to pay attention to this show and all the possible clues to truly understand it.
Fantastic, that was just awesome. I know my parents kind of chuckled mockingly when I said that Lost was scheduled to end after Season 6, but I think now that there is a finite amount of episodes left (45 if my count is right) the creators can set up a timeline and reeeeeeally start organizing things the way they want them.
Also (surprisingly, or not) ... apparently the beginning 6 episodes of last season were subpar due to the studio interfering in the plotting of the show, then they saw the failure they were causing, so it stopped. This begs the question: does studio involvement ever go well espcially when it interferes with a creator's vision? Shouldn't they know to just leave it alone?
Oceanic 6:
1 - Jack
2 - Kate
3 - Hurley
4 - Sayid
5 -
6 -
I'm going to assume that the only people who are part of the Oceanic 6 are survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Meaning Juliette isn't one of the 6, nor is Ben. However we now know that Ben survives, gets off the island, and continues his evil (or good intentioned?) ways. Which would also lead me to believe that those who followed him survive as well (such as Juliette, and possibly Locke and Sawyer?)
There are only 2 more, who could they be? Would Ben keep Kwon and Sawyer alive to do be other Sayids? Ben plays on the fact that he holds power over other people over you.
I'm curious to find out what happens to Claire and Aaron, as well as Sun and her child.
Who are the boaties? I agree with Sayid they are lying about something(s). Who is the guy that pretended to be the Oceanic attorney, and was Naomi's boss? Could Hurley and Jack be covering for Ben and his people to protect Sayid et al? Is that why Jack went to see if Hurley was going to tell?
I wonder who's hunting Ben? Where's he getting the money to front his organization, the work they do, and information they gather?
Great, Great, Great Show! I can't wait for next week.
Oh something I was thinking about last night, the rest of Ben's followers, the children, and people they kidnapped from the beach. What exactly happened to them, I don't recall?

I think they were camping last time we saw them. Then Ben left to intercept the group at the radio tower.
Yes, when the show says the others have been wiped out, I think they are more referring to the really militant, aggressive ones ... obviously there are some left, but the focus will be off them now that it is on the freighter people.
Was anyone else intrigued by how the island could be ~31 seconds off of the rest of the world? That's kind of cool. There was also another reference to needing to leave the island via a specific bearing.

That was 31 minutes! When Jack said I can't believe it's been 100 days, there was no reaction from the pilot..... I'm thinking this time warp thing is gonna play huge, make bringing Walt back into the show that much easier cause he'll have aged years if he was off the island. Oh a side note Michael is the spy on the boat, has to be!

...And now that we know that Ben is alive, it again raises the question of who was in that casket in Jack's flash-forward at the funeral parlour...? Maybe it is Ben and he dies sometime after Sayid's flash forward...?
Who was the dude that Sayid shot on the golf course...?
Excellent episodes so far this season. I also like the replays of the previous week's episodes with the "pop-up video", some interesting stuff in there.

I think the island is at least 2+hrs off from the rest of the world. The timer on the island showed the payload was 2hrs 45min late. The timer on the payload showed it being 3hrs 16min late.

I thought those times were time of day, not necessarily a count up from zero. So, in the time it took to send the payload, the 'island clock' was 31 minutes slower than the 'real world clock'. Which is all fine and good, but this type of phenomenon is hard to describe in any reasonable scientific way, which is unfortunate that it seems some of the other island phenomena will be explained away by 'magic' (or Star Trek physics).
As mentioned, this accounts for Walt getting older relative to the islanders. It also accounts for Richard being relatively the same age now as when he met Ben as a boy. If Ben has traveled off the island since he was a boy, he would have aged, and Richard not nearly as fast. Also, Penelope Widmore looked OLD in the video transmission Charlie saw.
Does anyone remember if Jack's ex-wife looked much older in Jack's flash-forward?
Well, since he called on the phone and the person almost immediately started the countdown, with the "missile" not showing up when expected a few seconds later, it had to be 31 minutes later.
Although listening to the countdown it sounded like the ship wasn't that far away. What was the first distance mentioned? 35km or something like that?
