Oh yeah, I will be avoiding my friend's whole family for a week after that. It hurts when your team screws up big like that. Losing in the knockout stages of the tournament is painful, not even qualifying is whole new world of hurt.
No surprises our predictions came true, McLaren and Venebles are fired.
As for more English players on more English clubs.
I'm not sure you can mandate something like that. In the end, it is a business just like hockey, and the teams have to do their best to win and make money. If that means more foreign players, then thats what'll happen.
I think thats one of the reasons why people feel the Premier league is the best in the world, because of that diversity. You need a spot filled, you bring in a foreign player instead of using that kid on your reserve squad.
Is it good for the game as a whole for England? Thats a tough call. And there is no damn way in any hell that I know of where the England team combines with the Scottish/Welsh/N. Irish/Rep. Irish teams. They wouldnt even make it onto the field.
Anyone know if the tickets had been released yet? England fans with tickets might be somewhat pissed.
And for my final dig, at least Austria and Switzerland dont have to worry about all those british soccer hooligans, this might be the most behaved Euro tournament in a while.
