Huh? You words to me were: "I hope I never hear of you judging anyone you havent met then" I then gave you my answer.

I did read the entire thread, and knew he was a friend of yours...that doesnt make him less crazy. Im just saying that there are times when the you can have an opinion (therein judging) on the 'craziness' of the person when the situation has been explained to you. IE. carrying a crowbar for the sole purpose of revenge smashing cars, and alternatively slashing peoples tires for their kids dinging of your car door is, in my opinion...crazy.
Sure you can have an opinion. At the same time I think it's laughable when someone claims to know the mindset of another person. You weren't there and you don't know the reasons why he busted a tail light. The police at the time weren't willing to do anything about it, plus their reponse was; "You have insurance, get them to fix it" Meanwhile he's out of pocket for the $500 deductable for getting his truck fixed. So yeah, I can understand why he busted a tail light.[/quote]

Wow, thats an interesting statement.
Let me get this straight.......

I refuse to judge Rico for his actions and somehow i'm supporting a supposed violent acts?

The fact I can appreciate why people do this, also means I support supposed violent acts?

Wrong assumptions!

Wow. You do make interesting statements.

For the record it's something I would never do myself.

I arrive in parking lot.

I look for location without any cars within 10 stalls.

I park there, doing "pull through" if possible.

No dings (knock on wood, fingers crossed).

No backing up, and I get a little extra exercise walking the spare distance. It is also easier to exit the parking lot after a movie or sporting event.

As far as retaliation with a crowbar goes...I would have done the same. If it makes me a lesser man for doing so, so be it. Sometimes being vengeful and petty feels good, and the woman got exactly what she deserved for not behaving like an adult.

Life is a jungle. If you play by the rules all the time, you just wind up getting eaten. At least this way the woman knows exactly what the consequences of her actions were, and had to pay for them. Maybe next time she'll "man up" and be accountable - like I would have been if I were in her shoes.

I wholeheartedly agree. Some of the responses are sickening, not to mention the justifications. "An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind".

Frankly I wouldn't have done what Rico did, however even if I wanted to I'm such a small guy I probably would sprain my arm trying to puncture her tires.

That said, I would have called the cops if she just walked away. Even if he was a raging lunatic, you say "I'm sorry, my son's only X years old, how can I rectify the situation?"

Personally I try and avoid dinging the other's door's, and also giving enough space so they don't ding mine. I'll often park, then back out and park again to ensure there is enough space on either side of my 95 Toyota Tercell (oh yeah, it's a chick magnet!)

On a similiar topic, what would you do if you saw someone sitting/leaning on your car? This happened to a friend of mine the other week. She came out of a resturant with her 90 yr old grandmother and some 40 yr old women were sitting on her car and giving her lip for being pissed that they were on her car. She couldn't say much with her elderly grandmother with her, but still.

What course of action would you take? Blantant disrespect, it's wrong, but what course of action do you have?

Clearly I spend a lot of money on my car, and I have a great respect for cars. Lets say some person carelessly plows into my car and totals it. If it is ok to dent in someones door and slash their tires because they dinged my door, I should be allowed to murder them because I care so much about cars and payed a lot. Sound ridiculous? So does slashing someones tires.

Our society doesn't work on the moto of "tit for tat". ie. Someone dings my door so I can ding it back. We have a legal system for a reason.

It's Enzo Ferrari dammit!

as for door dings...i will own up to one for sure, possibly a second

the first happened when i was maybe oh, 10 years old. (and yes, i had been taught to be careful around other cars and stuff) we were getting out of our durango in some parking lot. we were a little close to the other car, and i did put a little ding in it...i was scared s**tless...ended up not even telling my parents or anything cause i was so afraid of what might happen to me

the second was at the end of last hockey season...we were going to bp's in camrose for our windup. if anybody has ever set eyes on that lot, you would understand my anger. there is room for maybe 20 cars. for like 6 businesses. plus bps...anyways, some freakin' moron in a colorado decides to double park. (man i wish we could type expletives, cause i'm getting pissed just talking about it) anyways, i look at the colorado, then the full size beside it. i think to myself...it'll be tight, but i might be able to squeeze in...serves that dick right anyways if he can't open his doors. so i'm going, then all of a sudden there was this kinda jerk/bang thing, and the truck quit moving. ends up i couldn't fit in there. i wasn't even concerned about that freakin' truck though. first thing i thought was good, serves the ba****d right. i hope i put i nice big dent in the side. flash ahead a couple weeks, and i'm in town playing ball hockey when one of my buddies asks what the big dent on my box is...ends up (i think) that i hit the other trucks bumper and dented in myself instead of the prick in that little yellow thing...friggin' karma

I certainly don't consider myself meek, and its a lot more fun when these idiots get a call from thier insurance company after you go to the police and fill out the damage report and submit it to your insurance company.

Meloche Monnex has tracked down a couple for me.

My buddy's pretty anal about his car too. He stopped a gravel truck in the middle of Glenmore Trail a couple weeks ago when his Mercedes got hit by some gravel. Just had it detailed 2 months earlier.

Personally, I don't know if I'd even notice if I had a door ding. I really just don't care all that much.

Wait for mall security? Did someone actually suggest that? Go get some 20 y/o jerkoff to take a 'report' about some woman in a minivan, and what? Hope the cops call and acknowledge it?

Where's the emoticon that depicts a face with tongue hanging out, eyes crossed, and the right hand karate chopping the left shoulder?

I remember the first week I got my new car, some jerk punched my hood and left a baseball sized dent when I parked in downtown, luckily DNT only charged me $70 to pop it back out. Then a week later someone dented my bumper pulling out of a parking spot, $800 hit-and-run
