I can't fathom how they managed to spend 750 million in research and testing for the Mach 3.
Were they shaving the pubes of high class hookers with diamond-laced shaving cream?

Completely false. if the raw cost of gasoline was just 25 cents and it was being sold at 1.25 there would be a million gasoline marketers.

Chicken breasts. Seriously, why is a pack of 3 chicken breasts $12, when you could buy 3 drumsticks for $1.50? There are just as many breasts on a chicken as there are legs, quit gouging me because I like white meat!

Because you are not alone; most people prefer the breasts. It's not that the breasts are expensive; the legs are so cheap because nobody will pay more for them.
Same reason why striploin steak costs more than round.

But you get 100 legs in a package for the same price! It's lame!

Using that logic Joe boxers must have spent over $1 billion reserach the best position to hold my sack in place while a walk around all day. Holy snap I think I'm about to boycott Gillette.
Did their sales really benefit from their incurred costs?

Yes.
Gillette sales are a little over triple what Schick sales are. And, personally, I prefer anything Schick puts out to what Gillette does.
And if I remember correctly, Proctor and Gamble bought out Gillette not too long ago. They have some extremely profitable products in their portfolio to help support such giant numbers on research and marketing.

We are being gouged in regards to what we pay for music CD's. I can burn my own compilation discs for less than a buck, yet we get raped by the recording industry when we buy one of their music CD's.

Sure you can, but do you have the recording studio and all the other paraphanalia that makes the music sound good in the first place. If it is a junk CD, it still sounds like junk when you compile them yourself.

First of all, if you compare actual useable meat in 3 chicken breasts compared to 3 chicken legs, the chicken breast will come out the clear winner.
There is a lot more waste on a chicken leg compared to chicken breast when you consider the bone etc.
Then, chicken breast is much more versatile in how you can cook it. Add together the fact that there is virtually no waste, and add the further fact that it is less fatty making it a healthier product, you now have a product that is much more in demand.
It is all about supply and demand.

More to it than that. First of all, there is a lot less striploin steak on a side of beef than there is round steak. So, since the supply is less and the demand is there for the product, it costs more.
Second, strip loin is a much more tender cut of beef, making it suitable for just about any way you would like to prepare it. On the other hand, round steak is more suitable for stewing and the like. It can of course be barbecued, but it will have to be well marinated first and even then, it will not have the tenderness that a striploin will. Here you now have the opposite. The supply is greater but the demand is less, hence the product is cheaper.

Then it is not. I thought you were talking about making a compilation by downloading the music off the net.
