Lots of great threads over the years on here. One of my favorites was when Reg would post like he was from the hood in Edmonton. With the 'Oilaz' and the K-Lo, Mac-T, Raffi-T and the boyz. Very entertaining and I even had a couple of Oiler fans that thought they were great. The TPBM threads were a great time waster. Jordan letting everybody know he was a new season ticket holder. And then the threads about about where his tickets were. Snowdudes' classic first thread. Ah, the memories.

hmmm...so many beauties...one from two boards ago with the St Louis gal (???bluesfan???) calling out Lanny in an epic thread about Savard? Cant remember anymore....sheesh that was a long time ago!

The Epic 3000 post on politics that Cow mentioned....hes right that that particular post probably brought Off Topic out of the closet....right vs left in the 1st big battle.
That was Turekgirl I believe that called Lanny a ######bag.

The epic 3000 post thread made me so angry after 3 pages I couldn't continue to post in it. I decided to leave my point of view up to a few others who could better say what I thought and meant. I didn't even continue to read it because I knew that it would make my head explode. Then it grew and grew and grew, until finally I had to click into page 20 or something just to see where the thread was going. Curiosity and all that, was worth the risk of my brains all over the wall.

There they were, the posters that angered me so much and the posters that I had left to do the arguing on my behalf, all having a great time joking and hahahahing.

Since that thread, some of those posters that made me so mad are some of my best friends on the net. Those I counted on to spew my views, still do that too, and I highly respect them. Funny how that all turned out.

I remember a tiny thread about Joe Sports that only had about 20 replies or so... but had about 10 000 views. The threads about it had a couple hundred views but that one was looked at alot. I came to the conclusion Joe Sports was sitting at his radio booth desk with his laptop refreshing the broswer to see what was being said about him.

Well, my brain spewed up a couple tonight.

The great "Russian Acne' thread during the World Jr's a couple years ago was a good one.

The thread where people were posting pics of people with the Stanley Cup when it was here was another classic. Broke down into a "Post a pic of yourself so we can make fun of you' battle. Great stuff.

Oh yeah, "Calling out Cowperson"

That was the biggest dogpile I have ever seen on this board. Man, I kinda felt sorry for that guy.
Who? SimonSez?

Guy blew his stack after a normal counter-argument from Cowperson regarding the Tampa parade. Obscenities galore, so he got what was to be a temporary time out.

He had a AOL account where the IP address constantly changes. After a couple of days of "Calling Out Cowperson, I won't cease and desist until my handle is returned to me" threads, the only course of action that would work was widespread derision.

Now I don't want to step on anyones toes or challenge any memories, but I'm sure the "Fata" came about not just because of numerous threads but because at least 2 weeks after Fata was in fact placed on waivers (and scooped) some poster (I think he had been on vacation) started a thread called "Rico Fata put on waivers!?!!?"

I am prone to drink/hallucination/moronicism so I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it. I also realize that I am a real nerd for actually having this in my brain so no need to point that out.

To get a sense of it, imagine if someone showed up on the board tomorrow with a thread titled "Flames trade Saprykin and Gauthier!!??!"

Aaah, CP history. Even if I made the whole thing up, it's still good to remember.
In the immortal words of Ed McMahon, with a little bit of Phil Hartman sassiness...."You are correct, sir!"

The earliest uses of the Fata were classic, as was the first time Crazy Joe unleashed the dancing Fata as a .gif shortcut for posting, "Rico Fata is on waivers??"

Great stuff. [/b][/quote]
Marc Ciampa I credit as the Grandfather of the Fata.

The first to use a mere graphical mugshot of Rico Fata in response to a redundant thread.

amazing_oilers. The had some fan article up on thescore.ca for some reason that said the Flames play the trap. Transplant99 and Reg took him to school on both this board and Oilfans.com because he couldn't explain what the trap was.

He also owes me 10 dollars I think. re:Flames making post seaosn, OIlers not.
Nah, that was all Tranny.

Still my all-time favorite signature graphic that I made.

The pictoral "Fans Declare War" with me and Fuzzy McGillicuddy still stands out.

That picture of him is hilarious. I like how everyone referred to him as "That guy" afterwords.
