I remember my high school days I had a Chem Lab report, a 1500 word paper for history, a 4000 word paper about why the Japanese dominated the beginning of the war in the pacific and faded away. Those were fun times...
Also had a 10 page report that I did in about 5 hours in grade 11... got a pretty good mark on it too (by my standard), to my surprise.

I remember doing upgrading online. We didn't have any due dates, everything had to be done by Jan 14th (The day before the final exam). I hadn't done any of it until Jan. 1st.
9 tests 26 assignments later, 91%.... best in the class.
Not quite the same as a marathon all nighter (done those many a time) but it was more of a marathon two week gong show.
Fun times.

Oh man this thread being bumped is just such a slap in the face haha. I have a huge paper that I have to basically start and finish all day tomorrow before 6 pm and for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to go out tonight and get drunk at the pub. Oh man should be a really fun day tomorrow! (I couldnt find the puking guy)

Whoa, 6 pages to go. I just read 160 pages in 4 hours. Got to give it some time to settle.

Wow this brings me back memories. I once pulled 3 straight all nighters (with naps during the days) trying to finish 3 papers that were all due in the same week. Neat how there are a lot of Poli Sci students/grads on this board. Dr. Huebert still imtimidates me to this day (even though he's one of my references), but I regret not doing my honours degree with him.
As for someone's comments about Poli Sci jobs, it seems like most people in Poli Sci either want to get into Law School or Politics. I discovered I was good at it, liked to debate, and it was a change from the other degree I was working on (CMMB). However, it is hard to get relevant work with a Poli degree, especially at the Bachelor level. I was very fortunate to get into the government though.

Figured I'd bump this thread again. Every stats change notification I get from my friends on Facebook has to do with lots of work, essays, energy drinks, or a combination of the three haha.
I had a 2500 word Research Essay due today for my HTST 473 class...pulled 4 straight nights of procrastinating/writing 'till 4-5AM and getting up between 10 and 11 and writing all day.
Now that I've got that one finished and over with I've got my BSEN 395 Admin Tribunal Assignment due tommorow....so that's another 4 pages....I just can't find the motivation to write the remaining 2 pages, I'm burnt out. Not to mention my back is killing me because I need a decent desk chair, and my ass is numb...ugh
And then when I finish that I get to figure out my Bio presentation for saturday (although that'll be easy...3 minute presentation..lol).
I'm definitely looking forward to drinking away my pain/celebrating my freedom on Thursden
Edit: I just realized that it's now 3AM...and I bumped this thread at 4 mins to 3 without even thinking about that....interesting...

I'm here, doing my part!
Ahhh... all-nighter papers... My all time best was starting two papers the night before they were both due. I worked on one until about 4 am, switched over and spent a couple of hours on the other, reverted back to the first for completion and editing and rushed off to my 8 am class to hand it in, then straight back home to finish the second one for my 2 pm class.
Gotta love university.

Haha, now that's impressive.
I always procrastinate too much while writing papers, so while I could finish them easily in a few hours cause I'm a fast typer and decent paper writer it ends up taking me all night.
Case in point...I'm on CP right now, and I've been checking facebook for updates even though I know nothing new is gunna happen at 3AM..
Oh...and my house is out of coffee right now. So that sucks. Big time. I'm living off tea for my caffeine fix lol...

Awesome thread. Ironically, I am at school at the moment (in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, hence the time difference) and last night I finally finished my master thesis! I was planning on finalizing it and handing it in on Tuesday, but I noticed that I used a ton of references which were not in my list, so I had to track them down; extremely frustrating!
I went to bed at 7 am on Tuesday, slept till 11am and continued, I decided not to stop working until it was completely finished.... I forgot to get me some Red Bull, so I lived off tea, it helped I must say because the night went by real fast! I was able to listen to the game last night (started at 3am my time) while writing my preface, and saw the outcome as a good sign
At 8am I was done, but I needed to convert it to pdf, obviously that's when the troubles started, waited 30 minutes and retried, but you know how it is with PC's, they're always there for you when you're downloading porn, but when you're on something serious... no spank you.
Eventually I got it to work, hopped in the car and drove to school. I wasn't tired al night, I actually had a good time finishing off my academic career on a high like that, but when I started driving I noticed I wasn't completely myself. I dorve cautiously, and here I am now (thankfully); handed my pdf in at the printers, and am waiting to pick up 4 copies, hand those in and voila! I'm no longer a student!
Well, I still need to defend (in December) but essentially that's all just for ceremonial purposes. When I get home in 2 hours, I'm taking a nice loooooong sleep...
Good luck to all you nocturnal workers, just know you're not alone!
Well, neither are the daytime workers I guess...

Thanks! Just got home, I'm surprisingly less tired now than I was going to school, perhaps the dubble capps at school did the trick
I read your post after I wrote mine, magnificent stuff, that tea! I like mine with honey, flavors it up a bit.
Good luck to all you 'students'... hehehe :P

This thread brings back terrible memories of rushing to get essay's done. I must have had a death wish since I majored in PoliSci but minored in English as well in University. Yuck!
Funny, it's been 7 years since I was in school, and now I can barely post on a message board and have it make sense, let alone write an essay.

Its not 3am, but I'm working at them now. I've got 4 projects and 2 presentations to hand in this week.
Its wednesday.
I'm screwed.
My biggest problem is tabbing between CP and my paper.

I just got back a 10 pager that I wrote last week in a single morning. I got an A+! Seriously, false confidence is going to kill me.

It never caught up with me but I also never took the gigantic step from undergrad to grad school.

I'm in the midst of one of these as we speak. It's due at 10am tomorrow. Not goin too bad either, although its a History paper so the footnotes/references are going to take a couple hours themselves. My goal is to be done by 2am, but 3am is probably more realistic.
Round 2's Wednesday night...
