To me, it just smacks of being lazy .[/quote]

exactly! However, I justified it to myself because I never thought the teachers looked at them too closely anyways. Imagine having to read forty 10 page papers all written on the exact same topic...very boring

Wow, I'm totally outdated with my old fashioned ideas about the goal of school being to get an education. And all along I should have just been worried about how happy I was!

School is tough right now, all these assignments are a little out of control at the moment. Still better than having a job, that's for sure.

Well not all, but if you're not happy what's the point? I'm all for preparing for my future and I try to take school seriously but I'm gonna have fun too. Sometimes at the expense of grades.

Well true, but you won't do it at the expense of passing though.. or I should hope not at the expense of learning what it is you are there to learn.

I'll take being less happy for a short term to be happy in the long term as well, short term pain for long term gain and all that.

That's the thing I never understood.. people PAY to go to school, then do everything they can to do the absolute minimum to pass.

I don't mind though, because then those people apply for jobs and we get a good laugh at their resume and/or interviews.

It's all about balance isn't it Photon? Which is really what life is about: balance.

University is the time when you've just reached adulthood and all the freedoms it has to offer, but you're also learning about real responsibility and what it takes to survive in the world.

Work toward the future, but ensure you enjoy the present. Take care of your work but leave time for fun.

Yeah, I got the extension today. Mine's also due Monday. I just feel kinda bad. I've asked him for so much help, and yet, somehow, I still can't come up with a thesis that isn't overly general. But thanks for that.
