If you remember - Venkman was a huge smart a**. Ryan is a huge smart a**... Perfect IMO.

I look like Ryan..... So I know what your talking about.

But they are smartasses in different ways. Murray was more deadpan, Reynolds is more in the Jim Carey school of comedy, where he usually has to say it a certain way or have it accompanied by some silly look. Murray just said it and it was funny.

And how you doin'?
Did I say that right?

If they were to do it, that's how I would see it too - instead of just remaking it, just get a new generation with all-new Ghostbusters.

I honestly can't believe that they haven't started on one yet, a new Ghostbusters would rake in the cash just from all of us who grew up with the original.

Murray didn't have too because he was already funny looking!
Jim Carey is IMO very capable in doing comedy away from slap stick obvious (See Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Majestic, Never saw The number 23 so I can't comment on that one.)

On a side note - Ryan looks like he is doing Deadpool for Marvel (Wolverine movie) so we will see just how funny he is with a mask on!

I know Carey can do other kinds of comedy, but he's most known for his slapstick type comedy. That's more like what Reynolds does, typically. Murray was funny because the character seemed to take himself rather seriously. Reynolds is typically funny for the opposite, IMO.

Why would they put a mask on that face? Stupid.

Ha ha ha my buddy thinks he won't because he is too "pretty"... But Deadpool is hideously disfigured in the face and so he wears a mask... You still get Jackman!

Ben Stiller - Bad Guy (like Janosz in the 2nd one)

Casting is tough, btw. It's not just about finding someone to fit the role, it's also about finding people that will fit with each other. Especially in a movie like this, with 3 or 4 equal roles. Downy Jr might be a bit overpowering, compared to Carell and Reynolds. Actually, maybe switching Ben Stiller to Venkman and Downy Jr to the bad guy might make more sense.

This is hard work!
Here is one actor that would be an interesting choice for Egon - David Schwimmer .
