I think a lot of the Anti-American undertones are imagined. This guy has gone all over Britain and Canada, as well as the US, preying on ignorance of all kinds. I personally didn't find it indicative of any American trends, moreso people getting caught offguard, and the odd crack pot... which to me, is funny. Especially when its not obviously rigged or edited, like "Talking to Americans" was.

Did anyone watch the Ali G Show marathon on Saturday? It was pretty funny. I can't believe the people that actually agreed to be guests.

Well I just saw Borat today, I did watch the Ali G marathon on Saturday and couldnt wait any longer. Me and the GF went to a 130pm matinee today(Monday) and the theatre was alomst half full, it was insane, I think every theatre patron saw this movie and all others were empty.
And it was worth it! I ussualy dont laugh myself to tears but there were a few moments of that in Borat.
Sasha Cohen is my fricken god!!!

I just saw the movie tonight. Alot of hilarious scenes! The hotel room scene.....didn't expect that ! Haha! All in all a very funny movie!
"In my country we'd kill for women like this (points to the two women), but not so much for that (points to the other woman)"
"My sister used to make fun of my brother in cage and say ha ha you can't have it, but then one day he got it.We give him high five. High five."
LOL!

Yeah it is a great film. Borat is his best creation to date because he is so wrong on so many levels. I remember about 8 years ago watching The eleven o'clock show on channel 4 and seeing Ali G, which was hilarious because he could catch every one out as no one knew who he was. Ali G's popularity meant Cohen could no longer use Ali G in Britain to humiliate unsuspecting people so he turned to Borat over here and Ali G in the states with great success. Bruno the gay Austrian is also a gret character and he will be the one Cohen uses more after Borat becomes too popular. Borat is based on Mahir Cagri. Apparantly one of his next creations will be an American.
The funny thing is Cohen's creations were not funniest thing on the eleven o'clock show. Ricky Gervais was the best although i was never a huge office fan.
I have played frisbee with Cohen in Regents park. I didn't speak to him or anything but it is something to say to people.
Also he went to Haberdashers school and my school beat them in the final of the Year 10 Barnet Football Championships. Go me.
Jagshemash.

He is a funny guy.
I liked him in the finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm playing one of Larry David's guardian angels along with Dustin Hoffman. The funny part was that Cohen played the sedate angel while Hoffman played the irate one.

Saw it today, and laughed the entire time. Just a fun movie to go and see, I really enjoyed it.

Just came back and that movie was just hilarious.
And with the roads being as bad as they are and it being a Wednesday night, the theatre was almost packed. I was surprised.

Seen it on Sunday. That hotel scene saved the film. It was loaded with small chuckles and innuendo along the way, but that hotel scene was something else...probably the funniest scene in any one movie...and somehow it was rated PG13? Some mother took her two 10 year old kids out at the end of that scene...we were ballin' seeing that after those kids saw d!ck and endless swear words throughout...didn't make sense. But a good movie all in all. I wanna see a Bruno movie down the road...now that's how awkwardness is done!

It wasnt PG-13. It was 14A. It was rated R in the US. Different rating systems.

Saw it yesterday and the theater was still packed even though the roads were pretty icy. I love this movie, a bit awkward in one scene though but it was still pretty funny movie. I've never really laughed so much watching a movie but this one is well done.

I must be crazy...I just saw the movie tonight and thought it was horrible. I've seen some of Borat's skits on youtube.com and thought they were hilarious (for example, when he goes to the gym). Yet, I felt the jokes in the movie became extremely stale and redundant.
The hotel scene was a little much. I never thought I would see so much hairy cleavage! Yikes.

You know what, I haven't seen the movie yet, but from what I have seen of him, I get the feeling that women in general might not find his stuff funny at all. A lot of his comments really do put women down so I can see where it would turn a lot of them off. Definitely not a movie for anyone to take a date to, if the nude scene wasn't warning enough!

My female friends and I weren't offended by it at all..you know he's just joking around, so I think in general, because its soooooooooo funny, most women won't get offended. I think the feminist types (such as those shown in the movie) would get offended. It's so funny though, I just saw it last night, and most of the women in there were cracking up just as much as the guys were.
Personally, I thought Jewish people would be offended moreso than women.

See I think that's the best part, is the fact that all throughout the movie he makes fun of Jews so the Anti Defemation League wants the movie banned becasue it's anti-semetic.....ahhh guys....that's great and all...but you're missing one very important point.....Cohen is Jewish!!!!

Yeah, I don't think a lot of people do, and that's a shame for two reasons:
1) people can get the wrong impression of the guy, they see him as a jerk, or worse, an actual hate mongering anti-semite, instead of the self deprecating hilarity factory that he is
2) It is so much funnier when you see him do scenes like "The running of the Jew" when you realize that he is Jewish.
