How did you find CalgaryPuck?

I've been with OilFans / Oil Slick Magazine, well, forever. Late '97.

When good 'ol OSM migrated to Rivals.com along with fan sites for practically every other NHL team, you know I had to visit Fire on Ice. I guess that was around 2000 or so. Later played in the first Heckle in early 2001. Didn't actively post on CP those days, though. Even now I just stay on the OT Forum.

Yeah, as a mod at cf.com, I really wish I could be a bitch like that. We have however stopped the chat threads and puckbunnyism. You win some, you lose some. Though I did tell a guy that if he didn't want to be embarassed, he should stop doing stupid things.

I was signed up for the season ticket holder newsletter for the Saint John Flames back in 1999 or 2000, and they sent out an e-mail that included a post (or possibly an e-mail) that Lanny had sent to the Calgary Flames, and they linked to here in the newsletter. I lurked for a long time around here (and still do), joined in 2002 and forgot my password/username, then joined again in 2004.

I got the link from a RL friend and checked it out a few times, followed a few threads, lurked for a season before posting in the spring of 2001 I think it was. Made a new username in the big move of 2004.

My first impression was that this must be what its like to live in Calgary. Following the Flames through the dark days, getting bugged for 10+ years, constantly surrounded by Oiler fans, and then finally finding a crap load of fellow Flames fans in the same place ... well ... needless to say it has been a home away from home since
